Yeah, Green is a done deal. Venue is set up and everything I believe. Jones would either have to pull out of the fight, or as someone else said, fight Hopkins afterward.

Assuming Jones beats Green, then the Hopkins fight will likely be for some cruiserweight bauble.

IBO Cruiserweight I believe. Big event is Oz, can't see it getting cancelled even for Hop.

Gives Hop an excuse to fight Roy at another weight as well which will help sell it.

Wow! One could only hope this comes off, assuming Jones wins.

I really really want to see this. Not gonna get my hopes up until I see something concrete though.

I wonder what Hopkins strategy would be? Becuase I think the way he has fought his last few fights could play into Jones hands a bit, I mean I cant see Jones winning the fight any way other than just keeping the fight slow and very cagey and getting a shot in and getting out of there for pretty much the entire fight.

I wonder if we'd see him actively looking for the KO from the start for the first time in years?

I'll definitely watch it, not sure what my thoughts are. Hopkins might stop him. Don't want to go on record yet though.

If the fight happens, Hopkins will absolutely demolish him.

I don't think that the fight would particularly serve the legacy of either fighter.

Hopkins should be looking for one last signiture win to put beside the Pavlik win and Jones would almost certainly loose where he might still be able to find some legacy enhancing fight that he could win.

I certainly hope you're right, because i'll be rooting for Jones. It is true that Hopkins hasn't exactly faced speed demons, particularly Pavlik was very slow despite being smaller. Taylor, who was very faced but lacked stamina, did beat him twice.

The saddest part about this potential fight is the fact that we're talking about a rematch. Jones and Hopkins should be on their fourth or fifth fight against each other. I can't understand since 1993 why these two haven't fought each other more than once.

A rematch should have happened in the late 90's, with their third match happening in the early 2000's, say 01 or 02.

IMO, this match is nothing more than a novelty act now, because both fighters are far past their primes. A fight like this could be as exciting as Leonard vs Hearns II and the mystique of that fight, or it could be the most boring contest ever bordering on John Ruiz territory.

We in Australia are looking forward to seeing even an aging Roy Jones Jnr live in action.

How do you guys see RJJ vs Danny Green panning out?

Assuming you've heard of Green - best suited at light heavy and 27 wins (24 by KO) and 3 losses (twice to Beyer and the other to Mundine).
