Rumor going around is that Juan Manuel Marquez is already looking for his next fight, Marquez is lobbying for a bout with Ricky Hatton at junior welterweight. Personally I think this a great match up for both fighters and if both men bring their A game this could be a fantastic fight.
I like it, it would be a crossroads fight for both fighters. Who has enough left in the tank? No point for Marquez going back down to lightweight. No one their has the drawing power of Hatton. Plus he's already gain enough weight to be perfect at Junior Welterweight. He won't be at a disadvantage like he was against Floyd. I say this fight will mirror the Juan Diaz fight. Except Hatton has power to hurt Marquez. So it will be a lot more interesting.
If hatton is not completley shot, which I don't think he is.....I like hatton by a comfortable UD.....116-112,117-111......hatton will cut off the ring unlike juan diaz, and does everything better then a juan diaz or michael katsidis.... I would support Juan if it happened though....
I actually like Hatton in this, I don't think he is shot, he was just tailor made for Pac. If JMM is still slow and fat at 140, I see Ricky just using his strength to batter JMM on the inside for 12 rounds
The JMM that Floyd fought? at 140 I see hatton winning this and it wont be a surprise that Rickys faster. JMM was unbelievably slow
I wouldn't even really want to see this fight, I don't think JMM should be fighting over 140, or even at 140.
If the fight does happen it is definetely not happening at 140. Hatton has little to gain from this fight, and a lot to lose.
Bingo, i'm convinced marquez limit is 135....he will still look bad at 140.....and hatton's footwork was always his strong suit, flat-footed juan diaz, who has no concept in what cutting off the ring is, which hatton is quite good at, hatton wins a UD in suprising fashion.....marquez will never have the space he did to pickoff hatton like he did against diaz....and in an ugly fight gets beat....
I'd say Marquez wins it score's 116 - 112 he could stop Hatton late if he starts letting his combinations go in the late rounds say the last 2 Rds Hattons defence is wide open
