I hope he stayed at 135. I think he's to small even at 140.

if its true then he's stupid.
his last fight shows he has nothing to seek above 135.
he can't hope doing the same or better than pac against hatton.
but after hatton retires , maybe he can be the #2 at 140 after pac.
i have a feeling he moves up to avoid valero.

    not so true.
you know the ranking of contenders is corrupt.
go figure what can happen in a marquez-valero showdown.

With his turtle-like slowness this weekend. I reckon dropping 2-5 pounds won't bring much of his speed back. Heck, he's even a rookie at Lightweight, he should stay in Lightweight instead to atleast have some of his former speed and reflexes.

I think Bradley would still be too much for him right now. But I'd love to watch him in with Hatton good fight for both guys and would still make alot of money. Juan you've done your thing it's about time to hit that sunset.

I'll quote myself since most missed his true reason for heading to 140lbs.

If that is the case you can be sure that Valero will chase him up to 140. Unlike JMM, Valero won't have any difficulty with carrying his speed and power to junior welter.

It seems everyone is making the jump to 140 including guys like Juan Diaz, Pacquiao, Campbell and possibly even Guzman. Perhaps even Katsidis will eventually move there leaving 135 to those coming from 130 like Soto, Linares & Guerrero. 140 may become one of the best divisions in boxing along with super middleweight.
