If he were to fight mayweather? Could he stay close enough to
get floyd out his game, could mosley win the footwork war?

Make Floyd change his game plan several times during the fight.
Once PBF get's adjusted he is very hard to beat.

Catch him thinking & bust up the body @ the same time.
Shane defo has the tools to that effectively. (But be consistent)

Going to the body should be the gameplan, especially against someone who moves as much as Mayweather. I'm just not sure someone has the footwork to stay one step ahead of Mayweather to set up the body shots.

Mosley would probably have to stay in close to get points and get out and
at times stay away from floyd, i believe it would come down to whoever
can keep their prefered distance throughout the fight.

I'm thinking Mosley would need to do his best "Hatton" impression.
Stick to PBF like glue & "Pound".

Shane has the style... I hope Floyd fight's him next.

Floyd did look uncomfortable when hatton was up close,He could stay close until he
needs a breather than move away from Floyd until Floyd tries to cut off the ring.Would
be great if Mosley could grab a slight point lead early and make Floyd look for him.

So did Hatton though, all Hatton was doing was surviving, yeah he was smothering Floyd but he was smothering himself as well.

you have to go to the body because it is so difficult to hit him in the head, stay close but give yourself some room to work and get him on the ropes as much as possible.

Press forward and cut off the ring for 12 hard rounds and as soon as he is trapped or u get him to open up u throw that wicked left hook anywhere preferably the body.
I seriously think Mosley could beat PBF by just unloading anywhere he can hit. His power is very good at WW and those bombs smashing into PBFs arms and body will take their toll on PBf. He looks to be very fragile. If JMM could catch PBf then Mosley will also most definately catch him and i wanna see what his power can do to him.

    Rough him up.

When Mayweather goes into defensive mode smash him with every shot in the book. Rush the ****.

When he ducks down low smash him on the back of the head. Hit him in the chest/arms/shoulders.

Put him on the defensive the whole time and dont allow him room/time to pick his shots.

Force him to prove his self proclaimed greatness

    Floyds "James Toney" style shoulder
roll is hard to get to, although that reminds me of a fight in which
Greg Haugen got pounded by Chavez through the gaurd,on the arms
and anywhere Chavez could punish him,Haugen was cherry red all over
    his body.

just to take advantage of the clinches, and exert his strenght whenever possibly. Floyd is one of those rare fighters who can fight on the inside pretty much as well as he can fight on the outside. If Shane can hug him and work the body, he's got a shot, but like I say its hard to come forward on that stiff Floyd jab and if you do you've got to get passed that shoulder roll. Its very tough...

Floyd is a guy you can tell has just been around the ring all his life, just so sharp mentally in the ring. Its just instinctive, as much crap as you can talk about the man, he's a boxer through and through.

I think, and have always thought the key to breaking Floyd's defense is exposing his left flank/ body with right hooks whenever possible. The thing is, Floyd does a very good job at angling/positioning his body parallel, covering his body and just moving his head when fighters smother him. He is very elusive on the ropes, but thing to remember is, when he has his body parallel, he has no sort of pop on his punches but is still able to counter, and eventually tie up. Trick is to catch him when he is moving back, you can see SRL exploit this body punch against Floyd Mayweather Sr.

I believe it is the key to opening him up, thing is, I have a feeling Floyd Mayweather Jr. has his dads chin, which means he is going to be a sob to take out even if Shane gets a chance to open up on him. Various spots you see that punch in this fight, 20 seconds in is an example.

I agree u all u saying u gotta punch him all over rough him up really bang into him even with his guard up but I think FMJ would be uncomfatable if u made him come to u he is affectivly a counter puncher so take that away from him make him throw first play him at his own game.

    This.

Mosley certainly won't try to outbox Mayweather.
