while i still think barrera can still fight competitively against the top fighters i don't think he can ever win another title. his time has passed him and it's time for him to retire.
Barrera has given us many great fights and will forever be remembered as the tough mexican warrior that he is. He is very war-torn and way past his best. I hope he retires for his healths sake and does not stick around to become a stepping stone.
He shouldn't be fighting again, period. I don't even think Marco could get down to 126lbs without killing himself these days, he hasn't fought there since '03. The Khan loss was the last straw for me, he's my favorite fighter of all time, the reason I got into the sweet science, he has nothing left to prove. Three-weight world champion, a Hall of fame worthy resume, and he went 2-1 in one of the greatest trilogy's this side of Ali/Frazier. He'll go down as one of the best of all time, the way it should be. He's doing fine being a TV analyst.
Yeah but if he fights at lightweight then whats the point in coming back even for one more fight if hes going to look like ****? He doesn't want to turn himself into RJJ. I agree with Addie, he should just retire as the legend he is.
Morales fought like a warrior and went out on his shield and this little *** has the nerve to call him a quitter
Don't know if I want to see him fight again, don't want to see him lose to someone who has no right to be in the ring with him.
don't think he's retired yet, i think he just waiting for something to come up like with Khan he's working for ESPN espanyol and doing a pretty good job judging from what spanish speakers have been saying
Just ignore the stupid little ****, its probably just jealousy because the majority regard Morales higher than Barrera these days, partly because he put it on the line constantly, partly because he was just a better boxer. Im glad Morales gets his true recognition these days (with the exception of a few dumbasses), he deserves it more than any other recent fighter IMO.
I just met him at a restaurant in Vegas when i was down for the Mayweather/Marquez fight. We were both really busy so I didn't get a chance to ask him what's next for his career. But he looked in good shape and was an extremely nice guy from what I could tell. I got a pic with him that night, and as soon as I get it off my dad's camera I will post it. On another note, I knew he would be a small man, but I was actually taken aback by how short the guy was. I am as big as a heavyweight though, so maybe that had something to do with it.
Shut the **** up. Asinine the way you constantly disrespect MAB, and it doesn't make EM look any better. Why does EM attract the idiot fans? He deserves better.
Keep in mind that this pic was taken really late at night about 10 min. after Marquez vs. Mayweather ended, so I am really tired and sweaty from all of the cheering/crowds and such, lol:
