Who in you opinion is the best boxer in terms of talent/skills/ability of all time. Do not take in to acount who they faced and acomplishments. Just talent/skills/ability.

Well, it would still have to be Ray Robinson. Just a shame more footage of him in his Welterweight days doesn't exist.

Talent, skills and ability are only as good as the people against whom they have been proved.

Thank you. I was going to phrase it thusly...

The extent of skill, talent and ability are only revealed insofar as the level of competition.

Thats why I voted Duran, beat a peak Leonard (2 divions higher) and went very well vs a peak Hagler. (4 divions higher).

I think in the heavyweight division Mike Tyson; potentially speaking. He just got unfocused and didn't live up to his potential. But nobody before had seen a fighter of his caliber. In that I mean devastating punching power in both hands, precise combination punching(either head or body), and unbelievable speed.

Got to judge this one on film and plenty of it.

I'd go for Roberto Duran. I'd put Salvador Sanchez, Carlos Monzon, Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Archie Moore and Harold Johnson up there too.

Ray Robinson on his very best night, his peak of peaks, would be a pretty thing to behold. Scary, too.

Well this is really the truest sense of pound for pound!!

I'll only include those I've seen enough footage of to judge...but it still has to be SRR for me. What I like about doing this though is that it is in no way definitive and is a lot more subjective than top 10 lists that factor acheivement and resume.

I wouldn't have a problem with Duran, SRL, Sanchez, Hagler, RJJ, Pea being at or near the top in this.

    I might think up a top 10.
