This one's probably been done to death but I can't find it so here we are.

They both had similar styles, both had good chins, both could punch & they were equally as quick. So who wins?

Robinson and its not terribly difficult, in fact I would say he stops him.

    I would say..probably not.

Its about as 50-50 as you can get. The ultimate welterweight matchup.

I still say Robinson edges it in the end...but this would be a "terribly" competitive fight.

It's about as close as you can get at 147 or any other weight class.

I just dont think Leonard has the power to trouble Robinson. I certainly dont think its 50-50 anyway, if Duran could beat Leonard Robinson could but easier.

robinson ko in 10th. Hearns had srl in trouble and robinson had better all around power (hears right was deadly but srr had ko power in both hands) plus robinson had one of the greatest chins in history---150+ fights stopped only once by the heat against a LH.....robinson wins this 95 times out of 100

Yeah but he wouldnt fight Leonard like Duran did. He would go for the shootout and thats actually suits RL a lot better.

Robinson is arguably the greatest pound for pound ever and almost unbeatable at welterweight. Leonard is a great but Robinson's in a class of his own at this weight. I cant see how Leonard can do anything else but lose.

Do you think Leonard would beat Robinson in a shootout? I dont.

... and if La Motta could give Robinson hell in some of their fights, Leonard certainly could.

Leonard is absolutely in the same tier in terms of class, this is a knive edge matchup. I'd probably give SRR the ever so slight edge, but he'd have to fight the fight of his life (even then Leonard would at least take 1 win in a 3 fight series).
