I immediately favored Pacman in the Cotto contest when I heard about it. As time has gone on I started to think Cotto was to big for him. I started coming to this conclusion way before the Mayweather/Marquez fight. The reason for it is Cotto is a fighter who has always made full use of his natural strength and does not fear doing things to put him ahead in the fight. Like Trinidad he is a fighter who will do whatever it takes to win. I love Cotto and Trinidad, don't hate on me Puerto Rican hermanos, but the truth is the truth. Cotto will punch to the balls when things get hard and what really got me thinking Pac is too small was watching Cotto pick Clottey up and bodyslam him which immediately swung the fight his direction. I thought, good god, what if that was little Manny!:scaredas: Anyway, I think Pac wins a straight boxing match, but what happens when Cotto lays on the leather on Pac's nether regions or slams him into a ringpost?
I know alot has been made of pacs power, but really, i've seen cotto wobbled alot of times in most of his big fights, yes he is good at recovering, but i think pac will hurt him, and hurt him early. It's up to cotto to recover, but i reckon pac will finish him. Cotto doesnt have a very good chin, and pac has a very good punch.
cotto outboxed mosley so i doubt he would have a problem with pac, lol id fkn love to see cotto slam him the way he did clottey sht was hilarious imagine that
Mosley doesn't throw as many as Pacquiao does.I watched that fight there was so many clinches. Not in this fight. It will be a geinuine test of endurance because there's no clinches and it will be fast paced.Mosley IMO was terrible in that fight. He looked his age.Cotto that beat Clottey controvesially wasn't great, did Margarito ruin him? is he shot?
Watch and only pay attention to the first 3 rounds...when his eye WASNT cut. Everyone wants to talk about how bad he looked against Clottey...lets get one ****ing thing straight...HIS EYE WAS CUT OPEN! OPEN! How well do we expect anyone to perform with one ****in' eye against someone as skilled as Clottey?! :huh...AND HE STILL PULLED OUT THE W! And as far as the Judah fight...he pushed Cotto down with his elbows...those shots wouldve easily landed right in the gut, but he got pushed down and Judah decided he'd rather have them in the balls. The only time I've ever seen Cotto deliberately do something foul was lift Urkal up from the ground because of his constant clinching. Cotto HATES people clinching him so he typically makes you understand that clinching IS NOT! an option in the fight. He threw Clottey because he kept opting for it. He picked up Urkal for doing it. But I expect Manny to fight a clean fight and there will be no low blows in this one. Cotto will simply time him and walk his ass down. I expect Cotto to be stunned a few times, but nowhere near in trouble. Manny though will be wobbled badly at many points in which he will be cut off in a corner eating SERIOUS leather and go down from a body shot.
manny has always been a clean fighter. i expect pac to fight like he did in diaz/hatton/dlh. use speed to his advantage and not get caught in corners. just think of how he walked hatton back to the middle of the ring. cotto has a huge body shot but pac has been through big punchers before. and the last time he went down from a body shot was what, a decade ago. if pac fights smart, he can win a UD. i don't see him ko cotto though. although cotto being one big mofo can ko pac. he just needs to time him and trap him.
He will. He was against the ropes against both Hatton and Oscar. Neither of them are good though when fighting in those areas. Except possibly Hatton, but he was the weaker man. Cotto will not only be the bigger man but the stronger man and he'll keep Pac against the ropes. He also cuts off a ring better than both of those guys. Pac can't fight going backwards. Never has never will. He's going to try and fight in circles. "keep turnin' em" but will soon discover that he's being cut off into a corner and Cotto will unleash serious hell on him. He did it against Jennings (the guy had quick hands AND feet...no power...but I seriously doubt Manny has the kind of "firepower" required to keep Cotto at bay) Judah and Quintana. When Cotto's the bigger man, he stalks and walks your down. Until he can catch you in a corner and land those bombs.
I started a similar thread 3 weeks ago... LINK --> Will Miguel Cotto's nasty dirty tactics be a weapon against Manny Pacquiao?
Well, Pac has to watch for only one thing. Whenever Cotto gets hurt, some uppercuts crosses the the border down south.
Mosley & Pacquiao present different problems for Cotto. Mosley hardley moved his head when he fought Cotto, that enabled Cotto to land his jab to disrupt Mosley's rythem and keep him in check. Pacquiao has a constant side to side movement that fighters lately seem to have trouble timing where he's gonna throw from. It's hard to time Pacquiao because he moves to much and throws punches from weird angles and they come so fast. And for you to say you wanna see Cotto slam Pacquiao kind of shows you may have some doubt that Cotto can beat Pacquiao within the rules. Pacquiao doesn't have to slam or low blow anybody or stoop to dirty tactics to win fights, he simply kicks your ass. When Cotto gets that ass whipped this time, their will be no plaster controversy:hey
