And the winner of Cotto vs Pacquiao should not be number 1 best ww in the world. Asero is a ****** Pacquiao fan that don't know ****. The number 1 best ww is for a fighter that is beating a fighter at THE WEIGHT LIMIT!!!!! 145 POUNDS IS NOT THE WEIGHT LIMIT IN THE WW.

im a filipino and yet i voted mosley as the no.1 WW. pac has not fought a true WW. whoever wins between cotto and pac should fight mosley or whoever wins between mosley and mayweather.

Right now Mosley is the #1 Welterweight no doubt, Cotto is #2, Mayweather should not even be ranked at this point but to be generous I'll give him #3.

As far as I'm concerned Mosley vs the winner of Cotto vs Pacquiao is the only match that can happen that can determin who the #1 Welterweight is.

The weight limit for WW is between 141-147, there is UPPER AND LOWER bound.

.... if you still insist 147 is the only option for the WW weight limit that
means Cotto did not won his belt legitimately since his weight was 146
and the recent Floyd-JMM was not within the WW limit since Floyd was
146 and JMM was 144. So from YOUR OWN POINT OF VIEW none of
Floyd, Cotto, JMM are legitimate WW and neither will be PAC
    ... :nut:nut:nut :lol::lol::lol: :rofl:rofl:rofl

yeah if we go this way, PAC was KOed by phantom punch to the
balls which should exclude him from any serious fights these days

    It's between Mosley and Cotto.

Some will say Cotto cuz he beat Mosley, and some will Mosley cuz he beat Margo who beat Cotto.

If Pac, pulls out the win, I won't recognize him the best WW for the simple fact they are fighting at a catchweight not at WW.

The most recent performance should count the most, if not
then probably Jones Jr should be still #1 p4p to these days.

Since the catch-weight is STILL WITHIN WW limit
(again WW limit is BETWEEN 141-147 lb)
then PAC is a legitimate WW.

Exactly it's between 141 to 147 in which means a fighter should weigh between those weights you just mention. But not force to weigh 2 pounds under ww weight limit. <<So in that sense Pacquiao beating Cotto doesn't proved a damn thing of who's the best ww cause he didn't beat Cotto in the ww weight limit up to 147 pounds.

Wrong the "limit" in the ww is up to 147 pounds not a catch weight pal.

You are right its UP to 147 so 145 is perfectly within the limit.
The catch-weight is the PRIVATE agreement between two fighters
and is not OFFICALY influencing anything. People forgetting two things:

    1) 145 lb it is the catch weight which was proposed by Cotto himself not by PAC :deal. PAC proposed 142 lb.

    2) this fight is not mandatory, it is voluntary fight and Cotto
(if you like it or not) have the FULL rights to put his belt on line or not.
In either way (title or not tile fight) the fight is legitimate WW fight
since it is within the WW limit.

The only problem is: if the belt is on the line the significance of the fight would be higher
and the winner would have a bit bigger claims to challenge Mosley #1 status.
