Its great he could make WW weight limit but in reality his height and reach advantage over his former opponents cannot be taken out from the account. Now he is at 160 limit and this looks like more appropriate weight for his size. So is PW a special fighter and can he be successful at the upper limits or his career is build up so far only from his unbelievable size advantage against smaller opponents?
- best endurance in boxing - amazing size (has heavyweight size) - a solid chin - excellent movement - stays focused throughout a fight and fights hard - fairly intelligent - can fight inside, outside, can fight forwards & backwards - take on any one mentality should i keep going or is this ok so far?
Paul can throw 100 punches a round for 12 rounds, and not get tired. Amazing! Oh ya he likes to bang too! doesnt run around the ring like Floyd.
Yea. Paul Williams stays pretty cool under pressure. He doesn't mentally break down like Zab Judah or Juan Diaz.
He fought a very close fight with Margarito and went 1-1 with Quintana who is a very small welterweight. He beat an old, shopworn Winky Wright and now he's a demi god. We'll see about that.
oh yes... how can i forget.. best workrate in boxing best punching variety in boxing when you add those two together it makes for a tough opponent
A Williams fight is always entertaining. He is very beatable but at the same time a nightmare for anyone because of his build and workrate, this brings the entertainment value up. :good
He's 6'3" with an 82" reach (Valuev is 7'0" and has a 84" reach), he's got incredible stamina which allows for a really high work rate (100 punches a round), he can throw punches from every angle, and has good movement. That's what makes him speacial, however his speed is average, as is his power. I just can't get over that he lost to Quintana.
why not... - best work rate in boxing - best punching variety in boxing - great foot work - can also take a shot to the body - capable of putting in consistent body work - trains extremely hard - willing to fight anyone - B+ level speed - B level power
Paul Williams is special because of his height/reach; and his incredible workrate. What more do you need? One of those attributes alone would make anyone formidable. He has both. He's fairly quick too. You want to take away his size advantage to discredit him, but... how good of a heavyweight would Ali be at 5'4? How powerful would Mike Tyson be if he was 125 lbs?... It's stupid. Paul Williams is really tall, end of story. I'm sorry that the world is not a perfect place where everyone is born with the same height weight, IQ, looks, and inheritance...what can ya do?
