I watched the fight and noticed how Vitali struggled due to the level of activity Byrd offered. Byrd was able to work the body consistently and deliver punches with precision. I think Cris is going to force a good fight and I would not be surprised if this fight leads to a rematch.

An injured Vitali, and even injured he was clearly ahead on the scorecards.

Byrd was kinda competitive because Vitali hurt his shoulder as early as round three.

Byrd was a very talented defensive fighter. Arreola is a come forward brawler with a crappy defense.

    Byrd was also in shape.

Sorry Bro... I think its unanimous. It's just a bad comparison.

Byrd was a quick and slick southpaw with geat D... Vitali was injured,,, and still winning rounds until he quit.

    Maybe try:
Sanders was nailing Vitali with hard shots in the early going... or

Vitali looked slow and awkward in the early going vs Gomez...

(But then again, they're both quick lefty's too... so even that comparison sucks)

Vitali was kicking Byrd's ass....anybody else notice that? Somehow I doubt Arreola spent much time watching tape of Vitali vs. Byrd. I don't know why though, their styles are so damn similar. I'm surprised nobody has made the comparison yet.

Vitali has fought a few times since 2000 and has improved a little bit as a fighter from the Byrd fight.

So you expect Vitali to have another injured bad left shoulder? If not then this thread is stupid cause umm Vitali was injured badly in his left shoulder and Bryd style is not even close to Arreola style.

No chance of Arreola being Byrd like....
So many reasons why this theory won't fly.
