Was having a yarn lat weekend with a few of the biys about our favorite boxers of all time. Quite interesting that all our faves were different from Tszyu to Tyson to Calzaghe (mates welsh) Mine is Marvin Hagler. Loved watching all his fights when growing up, the old man sat me down and would pause the VCR (might of even been beta ) - even when he lost he still never gave an inch. Hopefully the super six can bring back a bit of this, though doubt it will as good as the hagler/hearns/leonard/duran sagas
brings back memories - I remember watching him V eubank - another good pom you hold a sweet spot for the limeys phil?
Fav fighter of all time is Mike Tyson.....I got into boxing because of Mike....and Oscar but Mike is number 1 :good
Eubank was Bizarre! Not just the English mate, big fan of McGuigan, Oscar, Tyson and Leonard. Tommy Hearns could get the motor revving.
All-Time favourite is Marvelous Marvin Hagler, absolutely idolised him as a kid, got to meet him at weigh-in for Trinidad vs De la Hoya, complete gentleman, spent time with me & signed gloves, better than the fight itself! After him I have plenty, Harry Greb, Ray Leonard, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Larry Holmes, Chris Eubank, Wilfred Benitez. Favourite Aussie fighters are Ken Salisbury, Tony Mundine, Barry Michael, Jeff Fenech, Jeff Harding, Troy Waters, Kostya Tszyu. Easy to tell that I grew up around Boxing in the late 70's & 80's. Current favourites are Danny Green, Anthony Mundine, Vic Darchiniyan, Mick Katsidis, Sakio Bika. All are great to watch, too hard to pick only 1. Birchy
