and some of the fans (and writers obviously) who just can not see the truth that Mayweather, inspite of his great skills, is not showing any sign of challenging himself to be considered a real great champion with his level of opposition. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=21296&more=1

His next fight should tell us. Marquez after two years out of the sport is NOT a bad move, no one, including Mayweather, knew how he will perform after the layoff.

Now the big fights are yet to come. I assure you if his next opponent isn't Mosley or Pac/Cotto winner or someone in THAT type of threat I won't back it up even though I'll order anyway.

Hopefully, it will be Mosley or Cotto (whom I think will give Pac another loss) for his next fight.

But his fight with Marquez, and the choosing, was an indication I think of his interest to fight Pacquaio, even at the start of his comeback. Which says about his motivation to "prove" his greatness.

The trend in his last few fights would suggest otherwise.

"As they say, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. And as long as these so-called sportswriters continue to unjustifiably toot Floyd's horns, he'll continue to do what he has been doing. That is, riskin' nuthin'."

This is true. And I'm a fan of Floyd's brilliance but yes he MUST fight a welter next and leave lil Manny alone.

    It is not hating.

It is about calling what it is.

A greatly skilled fighter who is obviously not willing to take a lot of risk.

Some people are in denial I guess.

No sane fan questions Floyd's skills, he has the tools to be among the greatest.

But he has to prove it, test himself, seek the greatest challenges.

We should all press the guy to man up.

i give floyd lotz of credit 4 fighting so well against jmm

i give him no credit 4 taking 21 monthz inbetween hiz previous opponent

there waz no break it waz a preplaned business decision on floydz part in order to suit his fighting confidencez with his money making opportunities

he never stopped training his body intensly

without floyds misdirection of false retirerment and rather taking it for what it waz which is a preplaned layoff his last several oponentz have not been extremely challenging for the amazing skills that this floyd really has

itz juzt that he lookz so dam incredable alwayz fighting slightly overmatched oppenentz and flyod is so freakin great those opponentz and their fanz get insulted when you truthfully state that they were overmatced by degree of significance

so everybody starts screaming and shouting hater this and hater that and pretendz they really know whatz going on and while they are stuck within their thoughtz floyd createz enough interest that enough of the masses will defend his honour that he is fighting the best he could fight because he has already beaten REALLY dam good fighterz

personally i dont really care i still enjoy watching him fight i just dont pay for it

Relax man. The no one turns a de la hoya fight down, you included, for obvious reasons. The Hatton fight was actually a high anticipated fight and then Mayweather showed Hatton was no where near his level. Like scar said, him fighting marquez after a two year layoff is acceptable so long as he fights ssm, cotto/pac winner or a WW.

Marquez was a P4P fighter. Who cares if he was smaller. His next two fights should be Mosley and Cotto/Pacquiao winner.

If he mans up and fight Mosley or the Cotto/Pac winner, then that is good. Well, I hope he would walk his talk.
