    Tho this is not really the concerns of fight fans, it's interesting to note that the Floyd-JMM mismatch "megafight" spent $20 million on fight promotions alone...:shock:

    "The main sponsors of the Mayweather-Marquez card have been carefully chosen to hit specific target audiences. Affliction Clothing is popular among young men, Quaker State motor oil and Dewalt tools appeal to blue-collar workers. Tecate beer is popular among Hispanics, and AT&T and Southwest Airlines help to target mainstream sports fans.

    Golden Boy and HBO are spending about $20 million to market the broadcast, which officials at both companies hope serves as a blueprint for future megafights.

    It's a big gamble in what is undoubtedly big business."

    Another news article:

    "While the UFC is all over the small screens, Mayweather and Golden Boy went to the big screens, putting the fight in 170 movie theaters on closed circuit around the country, with prices from $12.50 to $15. The promoters and HBO have spent $20 million promoting the bout, including an effort to raise awareness of the fight with Mayweather's fans through social networking sites."

    :shock:

    Bwa ja ja ja :lol: Obviously you're not a young man anymore... Affliction shirts are for young men (according to Golden Boy)...:rofl

    Back to general accounting (just for fun, it's not real):

    $50 million - gross sales from 1 million PPV buys
    $7 million - from not sold out arena
    ----------
    $57 million

    less:

    $20 million - promotional expenses
    $10 million - Floyd's share
    $ 2 million - JMM share
    $ 0.0001 million - undercard fighters
    -----------
    $ 25 million - left for HBO, GBP, MP and others to divide among themselves

    :huh

    Actually 285% turnover... $20M becomes $57M... Net amount of roughly $25M is also very very good...

    Buzard and dopyzee are a couple of ass clowns. I often get a kick out of them..Not quite at the Farmy level but getting close.

    Its not a bad thing if you have to spend money to make money, I believe that business men have been doing it now for a few years.:roll:

    Yeah, fight expenses is very minimal maybe at a total of $35 million only...

    $20 million - promotional expenses
    $10 million - Floyd's purse
    $ 2 million - JMM purse
    $ 0.0001 million - undercard fighters purses
    ----------
    $32.0001 million partial expenses

    Overall it's doing very good...;)
