Terrible excuse!! Europe isn't a country anyway.

Bear in mind that Bute has duel nationality and is very popular in Canada, do you seriously believe that his presence in the Super Six wouldn't INCREASE viewing figures at the expense of either Dirrell or Ward who most casual American fans haven't even heard of?

Well, David, you're right, Bute should have been in the super six. Pretty rare we agree.

Don't be a fool.. No one said Europe was a country. The best from Europe or Sauerland boys will face the best the US has to offer at 168.. Doesn't take a genius to understand that.

The biggest audience is the American one and they are very patriotic, therefore SHOWTIME is giving them 3 boxers to follow in this tournament. 2 are better known in the States than you seem to realize (Dirrell & Ward).

maybe you didn't hear too much about them being on the other side of the Atlantic but Americans know them at least as much as any other guy in the tournament, except Taylor. They are olympic medalists if you forgot..

Let`s explain why Bute didn`t receive an invitation to SMW Super 6.
From the start it`s obviously there is a flaw with the name of the tournament. Why super 6? Because so says Showtime. Before other explanations , congratulations to the american sport chanel for trying keeping the pace with HBO.And now, here`s the reasons.
-For having bussiness success in present and future americans generally and Showtime especially need american champions mostly.Let`s watch all divisions and all categories regarding champions: we see only three big names Mayweather, Pavlik and Dawson with first and third suspissioned of ducking dangerous fighters as Cotto or Diaconu. So they choiced three competitors, meaning half of them americans with the hope they will have some champion at the most hot division:two young hopes plus Taylor whos shame with Froch is still fresh in our minds.Wow, what a chance is to be born in USA!
Now let`s see why Bute and the champion of WBO didn`t receive an invitation. Because the three non-americans have a better pedigree this moment:Kessler is considered no.1 in SMW. Abraham has an impressive resume and number of fights and Froch is the winner over american big disapointment Taylor.
So we have the big picture. Two reasons are important for televisions:being american and/or being a well recognized champion. The tricky thing with super 6 is that they can rise their fighters as well as they can bury them for good.

Listen, David I respect you fighter Froch but first look to the rankings.Though Fightnews.com give Froch no. 2 and Bute No.3, this site and especially Ring magazine give Bute no. 2 and Froch No. 3. So, IN THE EYES OF PROFESSIONALS BUTE IS AT LEAST AS GOOD AS FROCH THIS MOMENT.Besides, they have the same resume regarding no. of fights and percentage of KO`s with the only plus for your fighter in the match with Taylor. So please take it slower regarding the pushing of Bute into the margins. If you want the reason of non inviting, read my comment of page 6 of this thread.

David, please read my quiq answer to the other thread of you. This is the point, man:americans HAVENT`T GOT ANY CHAMPION OR ANY GREAT FIGHTER TO THE MOST PROMISSING DIVISION and want to rise their national names risking all on ONE BIG CARD:A TORNAMENT wich surprisingly includes a looser like Taylor for example (By the way , Congratulations to your fighter Froch) and two young hopes in a desperate and final assault to have at least an own name in SMW and in the same time in tight fight between Showtime and HBO for audience.

Completely disagree about Dirrell and Ward being well known. Only among hardcore fans are they known. Even Jermain Taylor is not widely known by non-hardcore boxing fans. When I was in the USA for a week for the Froch/Taylor fight many people asked me why I was in the USA and only ONE person(a boxing fan on the Subway) had heard of Taylor. Even the three Yanks right in front of me at the fight didn't known Taylor, so most Americans sure as hell don't know Dirrell and Ward

The reason Bute wasn't invited was that Showtime seriously doubted his bottle to potentially fight Kessler in Denmark,Abraham in Germany and Froch in England(a fight he has already turned down)

well if Bute is so ****ing good why isnt he pulling a Froch over in the US getting a bigger profile, mother****er is no prodigy and got knocked out by Andrade. Guy is a homer like Mundine and that type. No one cares.

Don`t make me have doubt, David, about your power of reasoning.BUTE DECLARED IN TIME OF NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE MATCH WITH FROCH HE IS READY TO GO IN ENGLAND.By the way, the fight was almost has been arranged (IN ENGLAND) but probably the offert of Showtime for the tournament changed all or some last details in the negotiation. You obviously don`t know Bute and disregard this:the promoters have the last word in the arrangement of the fights.Could be the team of YOUR FIGHTER the one who made the switch.

Listen, Mr. Gonzal, who`s Mundine to compare Bute with him ? BUTE IS RANKED NO. 2 AFTER KESSLER BY PROFESSIONALS of Ring magazine and of ESB AND IS STILL UNDEFEATED IBF CHAMPION.Ok, he could lose the fight with Andrade, but if your man was the real champ why he didn`t beat Bute more clear?Even if Andrade would have been declared winner, the rematch was needed to establish the truth.
Regarding Bute as beiing a homer why you don`t look to Kessler or even Calzaghe? All this is established by promoters. Do you think boxers decide many when so much money is involved?
And by the way, Bute SAID HE`S READY TO GO AFTER FROCH IN ENGLAND, but the agreement failed.
Why don`t you look to the americans which very hardly get out of US?
Do you think Pavlik would move his ass in Canada for a match with Bute or in Mexic for one with Andrade?
After Bute-Andrade II, you`ll see who is Bute and if he is real fighter or not.
