I hate the term dodging bscause RJJ would have smoke DM and cal would smoke ottke...if a challenge is montell griffith and tate and ****ing ruiz???? then 10 ppvs against stiff at 168 then i guess rjj is a warrior too...bhop fought a ton of mandos and the great robert allen twice....the common theme between RJJ aand BHOP is once they fought a good fighter that was big they lost more than they won...JC never lost and beat both of them...I am not a fan of any of the three but they all should be respected....JC destoyed a prime lacy and kessler he beat bad then beat bhop and jones who now looks great...the guy is a good fighter

u want some names that bhop and RJJ fought since u drop thise two names for JC....his wins over kessler and BHOP is better than any hopkins win...and up there with jones wins over the two great fighters that he wasn't far better than (which means he is a great fighter like floyd) toney and BHOP....oscar was fat, tito was small, winky was fat and pavlik was just green and more than likely sick....it all equals out in the end although bhops resume looks nice on the eyes

I want to hate on Calzaghe because his fans are so annoying, almost as bad as PW fans. But Joe is the better fighter at this point and even prime for prime I don't know if Roy wins, I'd favour him but Calzaghe is an ATG and I think it's time to stop being bitter and accept it.

Calzaghe, although his resume is lacking, was a very good fighter. And he did beat B-Hop too, all the dirty stuff B-Hop did was his way of scraping out a close SD yet still lost.

Must be a total pisser to be beaten by a guy who supposedly garners lower respect than yourself.

If I was Roy or 'nard, it would totally **** me off and eat at my eternal soul.

Well Darryl, i wouldn't sweat it because in the eyes of many (One judge, Dan Rafael of ESPN, Kevin Iole of Yahoo sports, the Associated press, a setanta sports commentator, ALL THREE BBC radio 5 live commentators, Carl Froch, and a lot of fight fans) Hopkins beat Calzaghe.

He utterly nullified Joe's attack, while countering him with crisp shots throughout the fight, buzzing him a couple of times, and flooring him in the 1st.

Calzaghe's best punches in the whole fight were jab-like straight lefts, of which he landed about three.

The punch stats only deceive weak minded people, its clear most of Calzaghe's punches were taps or cuffs. Very few clean punches. No hard clean punches. Every time Joe opened up he got nailed, hence he didn't open up much and resorted to his slapping technique which fooled 2 judges, one of which retired 2 weeks later.

And lets not fool ourselves about the Roy Jones fight. Respect yourself a bit more.

Kessler? Lacy? Almost all of Calzaghe's opponents in the past 3 or 4 years have been expected to roll him over and beat him but he managed to beat him.

Kessler was seen as the next big thing to hit boxing before Calzaghe beat him, now look at him.

Well one thing I have noticed with my time on ESB is how they ALL get respect and dissed at the same time. You can't totally blame Calzaghe for not fighting Jones or Hopkins earlier, same as you can't totally blame Jones or Hopkins. It's a 2 way street. If you're gonna blame JC you have to blame hopkins and RJJ too. I dont doubt that JC would have loved a fight with either 2 at any point in his career (would have been by far his biggest pay day), lets not forget that JC wasn't exactly earning enough money to be set up for life untill perhaps the last 3 years of his career. In fact he did try a fight with B-HOP, but it fell flat, and as accounts suggest, at the behest of Mr Hopkins himself.

I like all 3 boxers and it's a shame for one reason or another they never had a trilogy of fights with each other or something. But lets not forget B-Hop and Roy possibly could have been accused of dodging each other for years after their first fight. They're only fighting now cause it's a big payday, which is fair enough.
