Quintana had success b/c he is the opposite of pacman. Quintana is a southpaw with a **** load of lateral movement and stays low. Pacman is squared up and comes in and out straight lines. He dont fight moving laterally or counter laterally. Also see how quintana beat Williams. Williams was head hunting and the lateral movement killed him. the next fight he cut the ring off first then threw his shots. Same as Cotto did against Quintana. Different fighters..nothing in common.
I have a hunch that we'll be seeing a lot of lateral movement from Pac. Roach has already said that he's going to prepare Pac for a 12 round fight and doesn't plan to have Pac stand in front of Cotto. In those exchanges (not when he was moving laterally) he was able to land some good left hands. Again, I see Pac's speed and power from the south paw stance troubling Cotto and I don't think he allows himself to get cut off as easily as Quintana was.
The lateral movement set his offense up. Cotto could not get set to T off. The exchanges Cotto got the best of and landed the harder shots.
And you don't think Pac is capable of not only duplicating the lateral movement but surpassing it with his superior speed, quickness, and athleticism? He showed excellent movement against De la Hoya which was clearly the strategy going into the fight.
Assuming Arum and Roach did, Pac, a veteran of many fights, won't. Manny won't ever underestimate anyone.
