I Think Arreola Will Get More Respect Out Of This Fight Than Anything Else...

This Fight Just Proved How Inexperienced He Is....

- heart
- strong willed

i think this will serve as a good loss

 

And people questioned his chin... they don't look too smart now. He has balls and heart. He needs to train more and tighten that defense up. Try incorporating head-movement and lose some weight. One of his biggest problems was his foot-speed. It's so slow and Vitali isn't that fast... that's a problem with most Heavyweights.

 

Please. If he had put in his tears doing roadwork and in the gym he wouldn't have needed them at the end of the fight. He lasted longer than I thought he would, I'll give him that much, but we knew the longer the fight went the more it favored the fit fighter. In this case the older man. Geez. That is sad. I'd have more sympathy for him if he showed more effort to get fit.

 

230 would have given him a much better chance.

 

Just what I said, too early. Just like with Michael Grant. ANytime we get a decent (let's be honest, the way Arreola fought tonight he beats Vit's last two opponents pretty easily) American heaveyweight they beat NO ONE and you throw them in. Chris needed 2-3 fights against gatekeeper competition (i.e. Tony Thompson, John Ruiz, those types) or an actual couple of elimination bouts (i.e. David Haye or Eddie Chambers) and then gone for either an older Vitali or Nikolay Valuev. This basically does ruin Chris, just like putting Michael Grant in with Lennox Lewis just b/c he beat ANdrew Gollotta (when A.G. quit) and got KTFO.

 

There's no crying in BASEBALL let alone boxing...can you imagine if a Klitschko cried after losing a fight? Neither can I. Impressive win for 38 year old Vitali to go into Arreola's home turf and starch his face until he quit and cried like a friggin baby :rofl

 

Michael Grant was pretty chinny though. Those won't ruin his career. If it does it does psychology but Arreola is tough so I don't see that. It could be a good learning experience.

 

I talked a lot of **** about Arreola - accusing him of walking into the ring for a payday - but I was wrong. He's the best American heavyweight in a long time. He's earned my respect. I hope he looks at this as a new opportunity to take training more seriously and seek revenge.

just think about this...

his last fight was against jameel mccline previous to tonight..... like honestly what kind of real challenging experience does he have? all he has had to done is poudn on his oppponent... he has never been forced to make an adjustment or anything... vitali at this point was way too much... it will be a good learning experience for him .. he will be back.. no doubt about that

 

I'm not sure inexperience played a factor in the fight because of Arreola's limitations. Even if he had it in his mind to make adjustments he doesn't have the skillset to apply it against Vitali Klitschko.

I agree entirely with your other points, I was thoroughly impressed with Arreola's chin, toughness, desire to win, and STAMINA. He had great stamina to take that punishment and keep coming, despite his body appearence.

Against any normal fighters, not named Klitschko, he gives them a rough night. Very rough. His pressure would be a lot more effective against most.

 

The dude got heart but also got exposed for his lack of professionalism to get fit for the biggest fight of his life.

And as for crying like a baby. Hmm..

 

Man, Vitali was part track star, part care bear. He was runnin' and huggin' the whole fight. The ref was balls. Whenever Chris was inside (in the clinch, of course, courtesy of Vitali) doing good body work the ref would break them. Between Klit's strategy of run-n-hug and the ref's incompetence Arreola was doomed from the start.

Shout out to Arreola for consistently takin' it to Klit round after round despite the odds being against him.

 

No disrespect to Arreola but he had no chance of winning this fight. His plodding style played right into Vitali's hands. I said it over and over again and was surprised to see how many people were giving Arreola a chance. The guy was courageous but it's not the first time we've seen Buffer pay homage to a brave but overmatched challenger who Vitali took apart by asking for a round of applause. Arreola was brave in taking the fight as the only thing it accomplished besides earning him a nice payday was having a few years shaven off of his career. Personally, I feel the referee did him a favor. I have nothing against Arreola. Nice guy, decent fighter. Just completely outmatched in every possible regard against a man-machine of a fighter. No 38 year-old should look that good.

 

He'll be better because of it.
