Assuming it was the ref, it was maybe a round too soon. But you can't really argue. It was a good stoppage.

Good stoppage. Arreola had no chance but a great heart. Arreola can do a lot better if he stays in shape between fights. He was to heavy at the beginning of his training.

Good job from Vitali. He looks better than against Gomez. Good job from Chef! :thumbsup:thumbsup

It was not the ref who stopped the fight!

IT was Chris' corner. In fact it was his best friend.

the stoppage was right.. chris wasnt going to win on points and definitely wasnt going to ko vitali so why absorb 2 more rounds of punishment for no reason ?
Arreola's got a big heart though, respect..

At the tail end of the fight, Arreola's hands were getting lower and lower because he was getting tired and he was taking a lot of shots. It was just a matter of time before he gets KO'D. I think the trainer and the ref was right in stopping it.

really? I thought I just saw the ref walk over to Arreola's corner, take one look at him and waved his arms calling it over. Either way, I think a warning from either his corner or the ref saying the fight would be stopped if he continues to take that kind of punishment was more appropriate. Let the guy have his pride, he earned his title shot.

The ref sucked. He shoulda let them bang in close quarters and fight there way out instead of trying to break it up so ****ing fast.

Chris was landing hard body blows everytime Vitali would hold, but the ref would always was super quick to separate them

Yea is premature but can be justified. 9th round was one of chris's strongest rounds. I think the ref have his money on the KO. haha

    I can't disagree with it.

Arreola was badly bleeding and taking too many shots, though no one can deny he was trying ALL the way and never quit till he was FORCED to stop.

I think it was a fair decision. At that point Vitali was practically shooting fish in a barrel. Arreloa was getting teed off on, and you only had to look at his face to accertain the accumulated damage. Arreola still has a career to look forward too, hence there was no point in prolonging the inevitable. The dude showed a ton of heart though.

He had no chance of winning and was catching more and more clean shots.

What's the point of letting it go on? I too thought it ended abruptly but couldn't argue with the decision.
