Haye's stamina at cruiserweight was suspect. Now he's heavier, it might be even more so. His whiskers are very dodgy (floored in 2 of his last 3 fights), whereas VK has never been floored - amateur or pro - and, if he could take Lennox's punches, could certainly take Haye's. Vitali threw over 800 punches in 10 rounds tonight. That's pretty amazing for a heavy. No way Haye beats him by stoppage or on points. He'd have a very slight pucher's chance with Wladimir, but that's all.
Nice analysis, but I disagree with you on a few points. First, you say that Vitali's chin "isn't granite." How do you know this? The only times that Vitali has been rocked were against heavy punchers Lennox Lewis and Corrie Sanders. On each occasion Vitali showed excellent durability and recuperative powers. Aside from his these two occasions, Vitali has never been noticeably hurt by anyone. Tonight, in fact, he was never hurt in spite of absorbing numerous shots from Arreola, who is known for his power. Second, I don't think that Haye will have proved his power if he withstands Valuev's punches. Valuev, in spite of his size, is not really a big puncher. Vitali hits much harder than Valuev does. Assuming Haye takes Valuev's shots, Haye will still have to prove his ability to take a punch all over again against Vitali. Finally, you point out that Vitali isn't at his absolute best when facing a guy who can pressure him. Okay, there's some truth there. But will Haye be able to pressure Vitali? I think not. Lacking size, Haye will have to fight Vitali by boxing, and by utilizing his superior hand and foot speed. Thus, Haye will remain on the outside against Vitali, and he will be unable to take chances by forcing his way inside (lest he run into a Vitali power punch). All in all, I think Haye's outside boxing will leave Vitali with all the time and comfort he needs to neutralize Haye with jabs, long rights, and awkward, tricky defensive manuevers. Even if Haye looks brilliant against Valuev -- who's not that much of a fighter -- Vitali will still rate a solid favorite if they fight.
Finally... Someone with some reasoning and common sense. The question is his chin, he has that thin neck. The thing is, though...he needs to tighten up his defense to give himself an absolute great chance. Defense is way too reflex based and based on his ability catch people coming in with that speed. Haye doesn't impress me that much but he won't just stand in front of Vitali and he has the ability to out-box him. Vitali look off-balance and somewhat slow with his hands/feet. I guess it was a good performance for his standards but it wasn't great. Arreola was just too slow-plodding and porous on defense. I was rooting for him, though and he showed toughness.
Haye talks a good game. But that's because he knows he's just promoting himself for someone whose name isn't Klitschko. He would take a very runny shyte in his drawers if he thought there was ever any REAL chance he would actually have to step into the RING with either brother.
world class footwork??? LMAO. A couple times in the beginning of the fight Chris worked his way inside and Vitali bounced out slowly and terribly off balance. A guy like Haye would've been able to chase him down and land at those particular times. Also Haye moves his head. Obviously not you. Not a big Haye fan, but apparently he was partying a lot and living the high life and learned from it. Haye is young and he shouldn't come in out of shape like that. His stamina was a big reason as why he got Knocked out... he looked exhausted. Refer up top. He was apparently partying back then. Much more serious now. He learned from it supposedly. That wasn't a sign of his chin because he was completely exhausted. It's like saying Foreman has a bad chin for being dropped by the weak punching Jimmy Young. But if you said that you would look like a real idiot. I'm pretty sure I know way more about boxing than you do. It's my simple analysis, either agree or disagree. I disagree with your claim that Vitali's resume is bad. Quite the contrary...Vitali has kayoed numerous world rated contenders (rated when he met them), including Arreola, Gomez, Peter, Williams, Sanders, and Johnson. Add to this that Vitali's only two losses were against top fighters in bouts where he retired because of injury after winning the vast majority of the rounds in each match.
Common sense? Or the same delusion you are suffering from? How can anybody call Vitali SLOW? Did you see him keep Arreola out of distance for 10 rounds or not? Didn't he land AT WILL??? How could he pull that off if he was slow. He LOOKS slow to the untrained eye because he's 6"7 and 250 lbs. But inside the right he's as fast both on his feet and with his hands as a human being of his size could possibly be.

Well, Vitali's composure is for **** as far as I'm concerned. I actually think Chris buzzed him a few times or got his attention. He did his usually run away routine in moments of heat/pressure. Lennox seriously wobbled him and he held on and Sander did too... he dropped him as well. From my view of it it seemed like a legit knockdown but I'll have to re-watch it I can't remember. His ability to stay away seems proven, not his recuperative powers. He can be hurt and his chin ISN'T granite. It may be better than his brothers or good. I will admit he is hard to put away, as explained earlier. I think Haye can out-box him though. Vitali is overrated as a puncher I think. So was Arreola as he himself explained that he's a combo puncher. Vitali throws arm-punches and he's not fast. Haye needs to tighten up the defense. If his chin holds up then he will manage regardless. If he has both he can definitely beat him. Nope, Haye doesn't need to pressure him. Although he can in spurts, and although anyone with foot-speed and toughness can. Haye can box in and out I think. I believe he can out-box Klitischko. That lean forward and lean back defense just won't hold up against some speed, youth, reflexes, and foot-speed. He may, but I'd suspect an upset. Haye has the tools to beat him. He is superior in foot and hand. It's just up to his chin to hold up OR for him to tighten up his defense. If he takes Valuev punches well then I'll have more faith. Not making a pick here if the fight were to happen but I do believe that he has a solid chance.
