Maybe could have been marginally later, but in this case with a knockout so eminent, does it really matter? In lieu of sounding too sympathetic, was there really any need for Arreola to get hit more? And a knockout for Arreola was pretty much a non issue.

Arreola did NOT protest the stoppage. He didn't want any more and he knew he was almost out. To his credit, he showed a lot of fire in there while he was eating shots. If only he put in the work in the gym.

That is kind of bottom line. The fight was decided. I think Chris was spent enough that he couldn't have KO'd Vitaly with a free shot. I heard his corner tell him he had to start taking more chances. That didn't work to their favor so they did the right thing.

Arreola got battered the last two rounds of the fight. He would not have made it to the end of the bout, and if he did, it could drastically reduce the length of his career.

Vitali is not a kind soul. He knew it was tee-off time and it would have just gotten worse.

Let them fight inside. Let them fight out of clinches. Encourage them. Smack their ****ing hands off from behind their neck. Im sorry but that ref succccked. I think the ref had a case of short mans disease.

Well fought by vit and arreola.

Chris gave it his all. Oustanding heart on display by Chris, but the best man won.

Yea the ref did break up clinches pretty quick but honestly it wasnt going to matter.

Arreola will be back. Good job Vitali.

No way. Vitali is a killer (which is why he has 37 KO's in 38 wins) and a bully. He was starting to sit down on his punches more and he would have gone all-out to end the fight before the final bell. He likes his high KO %.

He did the same thing against Timo Hoffman he just couldn't get it done.

Arreola's body was beyond starting to fade. His nose looked broke, he was wearing down and Vitali was just letting him walk in to try to tire him out and potshot him.

VK always looks tired. His mouth opens up early in fights. But he had the adrenaline of knowing CA was hurt.

It was Sam Peter all over again.

Vitaly always looks like that. People say he looks gassed but the man is just so relaxed in the ring. He had plenty left in the tank.
