Well that proves it. World class fighters, sure. A lot of those fighters were after thoughts, though. Arreola is probably his best win. His brother has the superior resume. Where do you rank Vitali? He's not even a top 20 HW as far as I'm concerned. His KO ratio reflects more on the current crop of HW rather than his awesome punching power. Because I'm a classic boxing fan. My idea of fast and slow are different than yours because I know my HW history. Who is slower than Vitali outside of the Sam Peters and Arreola's? Let's talk past Heavyweights for a second. He's just a little bit better, more skilled, and a tad more athletic (Especially his bro) than Primo Carnera/Jess Williard. Lennox Lewis was a much faster fighter than the 38 year old I saw today. Even a Lennox Lewis that fight Vitali is and that was an overweight and out of shape one.
No he can't. If you can't see that Vitali is a great fighter you must have issues. He just beat a guy, despite the limitations, who's will was sky high and wanted to DIE in there if that costs trying. Arreola landed some SERIOUS bombs whenever he got some in yet wasn't hurt and kept punching bag, you honestly think Haye has more power than Arreola?
You're own admission should tell you how much you know about boxing, better yet scroll down a few and read the comments:rofl. Lets go back to the argument at hand. He was partying than?. Now your retorting to making excuses? Pitfull argument, absolutely pathetic, I don't know which is more pitful your IQ in boxing or you disgracing Marcino by putting him as your avatar. Haye by his own admission admitted that he has "chinny" chin, he got dropped by Barret, who at that time was neither gatekeeper or was ever known in his career to be a puncher. But than why really argue, with num nut like you who thinks that Morrison could actually beat Vitali. :rofl
atsch What a lame ass post. Let's see if all mouth Haye can beat Valuev or Chris A. What did Chris call Haye... a vagina
Valuev feather fisted... that's a first. If he takes some solid shots from him I'll have more confidence in his chin at that weight. And I ain't your ****ing mate.
This is the first time I will say that I think Haye has some kind of a chance against Vitali. It is very small, IMO, but based upon tonight's performance, Vitali has slipped slightly. That could be a one-time thing, or it could be an age thing. Not sure. I think Vitali likely has one more fight left in him. It will either be against the Valuev-Haye winner or else, if he can't get that, maybe a send-off fight against a "guy." Couple things, though, about Haye and VK: 1. VK would be MAXIMALLY motivated to fight Haye. Whatever he has left, he would be at his best. 2. Haye is nowhere near the natural size of Arreola, and does not have Arreola's chin. Haye has lost before and knows what it is like, unlike what Arreola's position was tonight. I would still favor Vitali heavily, and that takes into account that more time would pass between now and a possible fight (so VK would be even older). That said, this was the first time I thought that Haye could have a chance if he fought the perfect fight. I have never felt that way before, but VK -- at least tonight -- seems to have lost a bit of his sharpness and reflexes, and Haye could, possibly, take advantage of that.
Chris could beat Haye. Stylistically it isn't the best matchup for Haye. Again, some if depends on how well he either improves his defense or chin. I think Haye movement could bother Vitali, though. Yeah, isn't it pretty well documented that he was living the high life and not training too seriously. This is an admission by Haye himself. And it's clear by his later performances at CW that his stamina seemed to magically improve. Learn how to spell Marciano jackass. You probably haven't even seen 5 of his fights. I'll have to re-watch the Haye vs Barret fight. Pretty sure that was called a slip or a late hurt. Didn't the replay verify this? Yep, what's so crazy about the thought of Haye out-boxing Vitali. Vitali could catch Haye, and that's how he beats him. I think Haye can out-box him though.
He's just a little bit better, more skilled, and a tad more athletic (Especially his bro) than Primo Carnera/Jess Williard. Lennox Lewis was a much faster fighter than the 38 year old I saw today. Not really a big Haye fan. Just don't get caught up into the delusional general perception of things. Haye made a mockery of himself by pulling out fights with unverified injuries and such, however, my position stands that I think he can beat Vitali. I don't see how people are that impressed with Vitali. He has height and range, but he didn't look that great/sharp to me. But all of a sudden he's lightning quick... people are used to Sam Peters as their Heavyweights.
I would rate Vitali about 18th to 25th on an all-time basis. I'm not arguing with you there. And yes, I agree that a prime Lewis, Holyfield, Louis, Ali, Tyson, Holmes, Liston, and other greats would beat Vitali. But still, these guys who could beat Vitali are very elite fighters. It would probably take nothing less than a truly great figher to have overcome Vitali. I totally disagree with you that Vitali is only a "little better" than Carnera and Willard. Vitali has a big edge on both guys. Vitali is not the fastest or most agile heavyweight of all time, as you point out, but he is extremely effective because he makes the most out of his physical advantages. Vitali uses his awkwardness to devastating effect. It is very, very easy to underrate Klitschko. He is deceptively effective, though. Remember that when Klitschko fought Herbie Hide in 1999, the English bookmakers actually rated Hide as a 40-1 favorite (you read that right...40-1). This was because the bookies saw the same things in Vitali that you mention in your posts: slowness, clumsiness, low held hands, supposed vulnerability to superior fast moving boxers with heavy punching power, etc. What happened, though? Vitali blew Hide away in two rounds. Easy. Your assessment of Haye's superiority over Vitali sounds very much like what the English bookmakers said concerning Hide's alleged superiority over Vitali in 1999.
Yeah you are ******ed.. a lot of the heavys including your avi would be lightheavy and cruisers today and would get pulverized in there..[/quote] Insightful post! Let's be more specific, though.
