A 38 year Vitali throws over 800 punches in 10 rounds !

Yeah, that was impressive!

 

I thought he was going to punch himself out with his early pace. Amazing that a 38 yr old guy 6'8 and 250lbs can move that fluidly and fight with his hands at his side still throwing over 80 punches a rd.

I never would have guessed that. That's even more than he averaged/round against Peter. Wow.

I thought he looked kind of bad tonight, VK. But after seeing that stat, I might have to reassess. That is incredible.

He throws a lot of punches, I guess that was most impressive. Although he looked tired around the 8th-9th round but I think he got a 2nd wind or something.

 

This fight looked much easier for Vitali than the Gomez bout. Vitali was dancing around like a virgin ballerina. I'm impressive with his stamina considering he's 38.

It appears he took out some power from his punches and not putting his full weight behind all of them in order to preserve some energy and increasing his punch output.

 

Vitali is a very intelligent tactician and ring general. He paced himself very well despite the high volume of punches and had enough left to step on the gas in the 11th and 12th rounds to close out the show at which point Arreola would be a sitting target literally.

Although the corner stoppage robbed Vitali of a highlight reel KO it was probably the right thing to do. Chris was looking wobbly in the 10th after sustaining a thorough beating in round 9. Once tough fighters like that start backing up you know they are hurt bad and it'll be over quickly thereafter.

Those that said he was running from Arreola are delusional. You don't run from someone and throw over 800 punches landing at over 50% rate.

 

Agreed. He does this a lot and it seems he went with that strategy again tonight. He was starting to sit on his punches a bit more at the end, but why risk things when you're winning easy, I guess.

Vitali would beat every heavyweight in the world today. Haye would have zero chance. I wish Haye had not chickened out of the fight with Vitali. Arreola would knock Haye out.

 

He could do whatever he wanted in the ring with Arreola tonight. He won every round in dominant fashion. Me and my boys were watching it and basically just laughing our asses off the whole time.

 

Haye would have had trouble with Arreola. Haye doesn't look good against guys who come after him with relentless pressure. Vitali on the other hand loves when fighters bring the fight to him and walk right towards him.

Haye looked bad for 4-5 rounds against Fragomeni, a 5"9 CW who came storming after him without giving up. Unthinkable if a tank like Arreola plodded after Haye, getting into range would be much easier against Haye than against Vitali.
