True. However , him not being in the top 10 doesn't exclude the possibility to beat any of the names you listed.

    1. Lewis was 37
    2. Lewis was hit with a lot of punches, Arreola barely landed five meaningful punches on Vitali for the whole fight
    2. Lewis was lucky(unless you're telling me it was his strategy to win on cuts while losing the fight on the cards) he managed to inflict the cuts and get the stoppage.

He can't beat a prime Lewis. He can't beat a prime Ali. He can't beat a prime Johnson. He can't beat a prime Foreman. He can't beat a prime Tyson. Shall I keep going?

I doubt it was his plan before the fight but he did seem to be targeting the cut eye to get the stoppage when he saw the doctor was looking at it in between rounds, so you could say it became his strategy as the fight went on.

    Vitali was amazing.

This is the reasaon Lewis retired and ran away from Vitali.
Because he doesn't want to through that second round again.

And he doen't want to get knocked out for like the third time.

You don't know that. He did beat Lennox , if it wasn't for that cut , Vitali was clearly winning on points. Lennox also refused the rematch and retired.

Also , let's not forget that Lennox Lewis lost against Hasim Rahman. Won his rematch , but that upset proved that...well , **** happens & he was just human afterall. Lennox also had a questionable victory against Mercer.

It's also worth noting that Lennox Lost in 2001...His fight vs Vitali was in 2003 , only two years later and in between , he only had to fight Tyson. Who was no match For Lennox. Prior to his fight vs vitali , Lennox wasn't a shadow of his former self. (and if he was , than explain why he won his rematch against Rahman).

If you're gonna say.."he was past prime ..but still won the rematch because he was just too good"...Then explain why he lost in the first place ?

You don't know that...You're asserting this. Just like a creationist would by saying "god exists"...atheists asks "why"...creationist responds: "just because it's written in the bible"...

You asserting that Vitali would automatically lose against Ali doesn't mean that it's an empirical evidence...it's not a fact. It's wishful thinking.

Ali almost got koed out cold against Henry Cooper. (prime Ali).
Not to mention there were no such specimens of the likes of the klitschkos back then. (you only had "white hopes"...white american fighters , who were nothing but "cans"...) You can't compare....different era..

Btw don't get me wrong i'm not saying that Vitali would actually beat Ali or any of the past greats. I'm just saying that he could possibly beat them. That it wouldn't be far fetched to believe so.

It's also worth noting that Lennox couldn't finish Zeljko Mavrovic and that was in 1998. He landed everything but the kitchen sink on this guy...but never managed to ko his ass. (Mavrovic had one of the very best chins in boxing history though)...still , it was a good fight. (and an underrated one )...However Mavrovic was no Klitschko.

It seems to me that the "past prime" excuse is too convenient. It would be more believable if the guy would've lost both fights against Rahman but he didn't.

Riddick Bowe couldn't handle the mental midget Golota. I've seen his fights , and what struck me is how one dimensional he truely was. And if it wasn't for golota's mental issues & illegal low blows...he would've at least beaten the guy on points and grab the decision.

Again , Golota is rather poor compared to a guy like Vitali...Just saying. And i'm not even a hardcore fan of the guy...I find both klitschkos rather boring too. (vitali a little less).

    In conclusion.
You are asserting things....But you have no empirical proofs to back up your unfounded claims.

And guess what ? I'm not claiming that i do...All i'm saying...is that he could very well have the potential to beat all of the past ATG...just saying that it wouldn't be far fetched...

You on the other hand....are affirming that he wouldn't , as if it was an empirical , proven fact.

That's how you make a dominant performance exciting to watch. Not only do you use skill, but you keep punching and putting the hurt on your opponent. Floyd should take notes.

    Good post Boxing car.

Folks always forget that Lyle was leading on points when Ali got in a lucky punch that stuned Lyle and Ali had to finish him then and did.

That man, Lyle, is forgotten then but gave two of the very best fights of his era.

Ever notice Ali didn't rematch Lyle?

Please don't underestimate Lewis's win over VK, Lewis was undertrained and unprepared for Klitschko who came in as a late replacement. Lewis did more damage than all of Vitali's opponents combined, the Klitschkos though have proven themselves to be a level above any other fighter and in my mind both are now working their way into my all time top ten.

Head to head he is a beast and would certainly destroy Johnson who was primitive. I don't think he is a top 10 ATG but head to head Vitali Klitschko would be a tough out for ANY Heavyweight in history. Believe that.

He is kind of weird, I seen him breathing heavy with his mouth open like that in a lot of fights before his 4 year layoff. It always looks like he is winded but he is able to maintain the same output and doesnt perform like he is winded.

Respectfull disagree with johnson mate. Johnson has never seen anything like vitali back in the day and would most likely get pulverized.
