Arreola proved he had a great chin, plenty of stamina, and very good heart. I think he has a future, and would pick him to beat Valuev, Haye, and most of the top ten.

Paul Williams is a couple of inches taller than Mike Tyson. Was Mike Tyson a fatass because he couldn't even make middleweight?

Arreola was completely outclassed and he knew it early on, but he kept trying even though he was getting tagged every time he took a step forward. He gave his all in a losing effort and ensured that none of his fans, who paid to see him fight, would go home having seen him rip them off.

He was not going to win the fight, but when it was stopped he was gutted, because he felt he still had more effort to give. Even though he won maybe one round at best, and Vitali was beating the living **** out of him with apparent ease, Arreola wanted to tough it out. You can ***** about his waistline, but after 9 rounds of getting flogged he was still moving forward and trying to land shots. He made me a fan.

If this had been james toney we would all be talking about how sloppy he looked . I'm sorry but I'm not giving him credit for. Coming in the shape he came in !!

If this is the biggest fight of your life you go all out in training so it can show up in the figth all I saw is all the crap he ate and everytime they showed him getting decked all u see is blubber !! Nah man I can't give props too that !

Totally agree, it was a courageous display and he showed alot of heart. Also he was fit enough as he tried to make a fight of it until his corner pulled him out. He offered alot more in defeat than anyone has against Vitali in a long long time.

What's the diffrence between this fight and the same peter fight ? Because CHris kept trying more ? For those who say his condistioning was not a factor I disagree !!

If he had been in better shape he would of been able to get out the way of his punches and much quicker and not just be vitalis pucnhing bag .. I mean vitali was thrwoing arm punches all night !!

I think this is why the heavy weights are so garbage we celebrate mediocrity like its the best thing we have ever witnessed !!

Arreola is loved because he represents the typical mexican person...fat and lazy.

Arreola deserves a lot of respect for his heart. The guy never gave up and was genuinely pissed of when he was pulled out. I also have no problem with him crying. It shows how much he wanted it and how disappointed he was.

However i hope this is a wake up call to him. His weight is a problem but even more of a problem is his severe lack of skills and speed.

In the fight i didn't have a problem with Arreola's weight. It's all very well saying he looks fat but for the style he has (slow, plodding come forward fighter winging in heavy hooks with a high guard and no head or upper body movement) and fighting a guy as big as Vitali then coming in around 250lbs was probably the best weight for Arreola. There is no point being lean and trim if you are a low skilled plodder.

However if i was Chris i would take a long time of and go live in the gym to learn the basics of boxing and add some skills and speed (especially foot speed) to go with his terrific chin, heart and power. At this point it would be good for him to slim down as being slimer will be of benefit to him now if he was to learn how to cut the ring of, work his way inside behind the jab and add some head movement to his arsenal.

I have been watching Boxing for over 20 years and the only other fighter I have seen cry and apologize like Arreola did last night was Gerry Cooney after the Holmes fight.

Arreola is a warrior and a heck of a tough guy and I have no doubt if he can remain dedicated he will be a force in the Heavyweight division.

When you said 'remain' you actually meant 'become', right?

Arreola won allot of respect last night. It looked like he was doing all the right things in terms of keeping the pressure on and trying to fight on the inside where Vitali is ineffective.

He needed to cut the ring down as opposed to just following him but it aint easy fighting the Klits because they a big and strong and know how to use their long reaches.

It is not necessary to be so cynical. He was better than Sam Peter IMO and the guy gave it his all.
