Vitali put on another dominant performance yesterday. The outcome was exactly what I and a lot of others here predicted. Vitali may fight Johnson this December 2009. Johnson lacks experience and although he has some skills, he is simply not busy enough to seriously trouble Vitali. These young guys must prove themselves first before taking on an accomplished champ. They have beaten no one. But then, who is left?I hope James Toney manages to get a couple of impressive win because I could then see HBO making the fight.I have a feeling the Hayemaker will make a couple of easy defenses againt the Ruiz and chagaev first.
Can nobody beat him to be brutally honest. The only one who would stand a chance is his brother. But, Vitali should dispose of Haye and unify the titles.
i would like to see him fight a mobile heavy with fast hands test his knee see how he can move.but the division is not good is it
good thread, but to be fair there will always be prospects for the top fighters to face. the only fighter who has been around the top of the division for several years now who the klitschkos haven't beaten yet is nikolai valuev. he is the only person who, in years to come, people will look back and say 'why didn't one of the K's fight this guy?' if vitali has 2 or 3 more fights, his final fight can be the winner of haye-valuev. if he has anything more to prove now, it is to beat the winner of that fight
The winner of the fight will already fight Ruiz. Haye will win on points and then make a couple of defenses. He won'be able directtly. I guess that leaves no one.
You are right, he does not have anything to prove. The winner of Haye-Valuev has to fight Ruiz first because the WBA said so. Haye will win on poins and then make a couple of defenses. Fight won't happen next year IMO.I do not want to see Vitali fight those prospects anymore because they are not ready.
ruiz has been around for ages so have the klits ,have they been ducking each other i am not be disrespectful to any of the fighters just asking if anyone on here has any idea or inside knowledge
if vk is fighting in dec and haye is injury free he could fight ruiz in feb and have a summer showdown with vk. however if comes down to it, money always talks and haye v ruiz probably sells 75% of the o2 in london and is on sky sports 1. haye v vk fills a stadium in germany, sky box office and a decent ppv around the world. cant see it not happening at some point if haye stays undefeated.
Over Vitali's last few outings, while remaining dominant, he has shown that age is catching up to him and his performances seem to be slipping. His stamina is steadily dropping, and his speed and reflexes have notably dulled. While at present moment I say Have vs Vitali would be competitive for 3 or 4 rounds at most, I have to say that if Haye beats Valuev, then takes on 2 mandatories, eg. Ruiz and Chagaev, then this experience; settling in further at HW, plus Vitali ageing further, with another training camp or two taking its toll, then David would have a decent chance at a victory with VK. At present moment however, I can't see anyone really bothering VK other than his brother. I would be quite interested in seeing a fit, active and dedicated Tua take on VK; Tua wouldn't be taken out, and I think his size could trouble VK quite a bit. I would also be interested to see how VK would react if Tua landed a perfect, solid hook on VK's flank. That would just be nasty.
Haye will do anything and everything he possibly can to wait out klitschko, ie, wait for Vitali to retire. Mark my words, they will never fight. Haye was smart to run from that fight...he would have be embarassed and destroyed.
By the time Haye fighs Valuev, Ruiz and Chagaev (in that order) Vitali would be 40. Vitali will retire earlier, most likely next year. Vitali - Haye will likely never ever happen.
That is a fair point, mebbe if Haye can kick up a fuss again he might be able to get VK to hold out and make Haye his final fight?
