The irony there being he refuses to give Leonard credit for blasting out Andy Price in 1 round, yet Cuevas couldn't even beat Price.
Beyond M2S's excellent reply, I'd only add the following: So then how do you rank someone like Hector Camacho higher than Julio Cesar Chavez? When Chavez hit you, you know you've been hit. Look at Hector's low KO% comapred to Julio's. And since you love speed, Kid Gavilan is quicker under water than Pipino is in the ring. Drawing your own conclusions on fights is fine and sure there's an argument Lockridge beat Pedroza (more in the first than the second fight mind you) but you'd probably be the only one outside of North Carolina that thought Bernanrd Taylor beat Pedroza. Bernard Taylor put on a disgraceful performance that made Cory Spinks look like a swarmer. There is no way he won that fight. As to Gavilan-Graham III, which is the so called gift bout, I'd like to see your scorecard for that fight, just to make sure that you've actually seen the it.
I'd be more interested in his scorecard for Gavilan-Graham IV - you know, the fight that doesn't exist on film and which all accounts agree Gavilan dominated.
For sure, I'd like to see Red's scorecard for that fight too and hear all about his holiday to Cuba, but he was probably only referencing the third fight as a gift decision and I'd like to see how he thought that decision was a robbery in particular, especially given that most here felt the decision was legit.
For about five months I'll give you that . Not at welterweight, Duran had his best days at lightweight, I'm not sure who I could put ahead of him there.
I have Duran in my alltime top 10 Welters. Wins over Leonard and Palomino are damn good, and ability/chin wise he's right up there. Sure that'll create some debate, but then I don't rank Walcott. Ain't seen him.
They weren't just wins. They were complete dominations. Damn straight Duran is a top 10 welterweight. Very view welterweights could have hung with him during his peak.
SS, I like the way you score fights but remember this was a draw decision which should tell you something since EP was defending champion. my first impression was that EP was behind at the final bell and he knew it when the draw was announced. Notice the look of elation at the announcement he had retained his title?
