I'm curious because Floyd has said it a couple of times but I still find it hard to believe that a young floyd that didn't even have 20 pro fights REALLY wanted
a fight with Mosley. I know Arum wouldn't have pushed for a fight like that.
I also find it hard to believe that a guy like Mosley who has fought guys like DLH, Winky, Forrest, etc. would duck Floyd.

    What really happened?

Mayweather is trash talking, I agree that Mosley would never have ducked Floyed, especially ten yrs ago.

yes, he said he had a tooth-ache and wanted to go on vacation.....

mosley is desperate for a fight now at 38, he wanted to fight pacman at weight-drained 142 pounds....

how much money did shane's ex wife take from him?

Floyd's team did in fact approach Mosley for a fight around that time and Mosley said he would only do it for $10 million. At that time, Mosley was still fighting in front of half empty crowds and his highest purse was nowhere near $10 mill.

I am sure that Floyd called him out, but there are many possible reasons it did not happen. Ducking could be one of them, but it's impossible to tell.

what weight class was flyod fighting in 1999?

he did challenge, dela hoya, tszyu and mosley in 2005 but 1999 that is quite a while back for floyd who would still of been establishing himself as a name where mosley would be getting ready for de la hoya!

Yeah there was an offer made to Shane to fight floyd back in 1999. Shane turned it down, but it wasnt really a case of ducking because shane stated that he could no longer make the weight 135.

The later fight that shane turned down was a slight case of ducking on shanes part.

Not really to sure what happened between those two in 99. However if they had fought back then Floyd Mayweather would not be undefeated right now.

Shane was already on his way up for a potential Hoya clash. This was when Hoya was still a p4p threat. Check your time lines and fight schedules. Floyd did make a challenge as he was a no name and Shane would have been laughed at for facing lil Floyd at the time who despite only a 5lb weight advantage for Mosley who was already outgrowing 135. Shane was already well p4p status by this time.

Later in 2006 he called his name after a Shane victory, Which Shane probably should have been taken. But what most huggers won't tell you is that Floyd and Oscar were already in talks for Oscars' yearly cinco de mayo fight. Take it how you want Oscar was his boss.

Lastly when Floyd most recently made his return he said he would figh Shane for a guaranteed 20 mil. It is what it is . The time is here no other fight makes sense, make it happen.

Yes Mosley ducked Mayweather in 1999. He said he would move up to fight Mosley and Mosley said "Theres no money in that fight"!! Now look?!?! Dumb ass Mosley is begging for a fight with Mayweather.

what makes you think Floyd didnt want the fight?? Hes been fighting all the top guys for a decade now. after 38-1 Genaro he went to the 2nd best 130 guy in Manfredy then the 3rd best guy in Rios who was 44-2. Mayweather then tried to fight Mosley and Mosley said no. Its a total shame if you ask me, Mosley was KO everybody at 135 and Mayweather would've moved up just for the fight.

Mosley is just on a list of PPL that ducked Mayweather inculding Casaymor and Firetas. 6time champ?? could've been 9time champ, still can...

In case anybody missed it, this was also the year Shane jumped to welterweight. So no, no one was interested in that fight. Even Floyd knew that.

No shane wasnt on his way to fight Oscar, you have no clue as to what your talking about. If a person was looking at Boxrec and seen how thing went, one might think that to be the case but it was not even close. Truth is Shane moved up from 135 because he couldnt make the weight, but he also had NO ONE to fight. None of the then 140 champs would fight Shane those being Tszyu, Judah and Mitchell. All three rejected fights with Shane. Shane didnt even have a clue that he would get a shot at Oscar until after Oscar lost to Tito. Truth is Had Oscar won the fight with Tito his next fight would have been vs Reid at 154. Then right after the lost to Tito they tried to work out a rematch but never could agree. Oscar went on to fight Corley and after the Corley fight in the post fight interveiw Oscar was asked since the fight with Tito cant be made who would he fight next...and I qoute "Maybe I will fight Mosely"

You see even though it happed fairly quick the truth is when Shane moved up in fight there was NO fight with Oscar already planned.
