No, people don't seem to remember how good Kelly is. Nor are they willing to acknowledge the real circumstances surrounding the Hopkins fight. That's why I sometimes challenge posters to make me a list of all the fighters who scored decision wins over Jermain mother****ing Taylor!! Think of it this way; if PWilly had Jermain's resume', how many losses would he have? Or this way; if PW had Pavlik's resume, how many losses would he have? As a welterweight Paul is in the same class with Pavlik or Taylor. Above 147 he hasn't done much.
Well, sir, this is all true. I kinda bought into the thought that IF Paul beat Winky, that would likely mean just that Winky was shot to ****. Thing about it though, you could see that Winky was still Pretty Damn Good and IMO Paul looked "more healthy" I guess. @ 147 Paul is kinda' Skeletor-ish, but @ 60 looked like where he belongs.
Took my son to Pavlik's Sports Bar and Restaurant last night. The Champ and a few guys were hitting the Bag that looks like a Big Speedbag and gives you points. I was really surprised Kelly was scoring around 860...highest score around 890... I mean he was slamming that thing with his right hand and a cast on his left. Jokingly, I said that Paul Williams scores around 900 , Kelly said , yea right... Anyhow, Willians gets tagged with a few of ...890's and he will regret getting in there with the champ...Pav..by brutal decapatation...9th..:admin
Paul's win over Winky was a good win, but Winky is a natural light-middle, and I do not beleive that Paul faced the same Winky that operated at, or near, championship level from 1996-2006. Stylistically there is very liitle comparison between Pavlik and Wright. What happens when Kelly hits Paul with the same right hands that Margarito, Quintana, and Phillips did? That is the question.:deal
who was it...i think mckart who was commenting after his loss to kp about kp's shots that was pretty telling?? anyhow...the smart money is on the same thing that has happened to every other mw that took those rights from kelly. pwilly is a dangerous man no doubt about it. but come on, unless kelly has 30oz goose down gloves on he is going to affect paul in some way when he connects w/ those rights.
:hey I didn't really mean to compare Winky to Pav or that fight to this one, just that Paul didn't look too skinny anymore.:yep I'm peddalin' the Pdub Kool-Aid...lol...this IS GONNA" BE A GOOD WIN, damn it!!
i know that the old pav can walk through williams and then walk over him after he floors him. but pipe, i am going to be a wreck in those first few rounds when we see if it is the old pav.
Man, I was nervous up in there watchin' Rubio! 'til about 35 seconds of the first round. BUT, in round 6 I was behind from seeing that Pav was blockin' and just smilin' at Rubio during that last flurry of the round. I was about to ****in' **** in that mother ****er! Once I seen the video though, didn't **** land, and Kelly was "laughin'" at it all.
I'm a big Pav fan from Y-town, the only thing that worries me about this logic is Pav was rocked by JT in fight 1 and the fight could have been stopped w/out a helluva lot controversy (glad it wasn't, made for some gr8 drama in Boardwalk Hall). Not sure if he PW has the power JT carried at 160, but he throws alot more. This is a 60/40 fight, I dont think PW will make it to the final bell, but KP hasn't exactly been training very hard the last 7 months, I wouldnt bet my house on him, curious to see the odds on this fight.
i'd be shittin (am a little jealous :tong) over who you were sittin VERY close to...:yep dude was only my favorite fighter growin up.
2 words...STEVE MUH ****IN' GOT DAMN SMOGER actually tho...despite getting hit w/ some brutal shots, pav shot up at 2 count and walked ok to the corner and then to smoger. any ref stops that when the fighter shoots up like that is gonna catch ****.
History now shows that had that fight not been allowed to continue, it would have been a FLUKE.:deal Long live Smoger!
