Vitali hasnt fought anyone as good as Norton or Cooney, he doesnt get hit that much largely due to his poor competition. I do think Vitali could beat both, but both are big threats. Nortons technical ability, pressure and workrate would cause Vitali problems. Vitali isnt a massive puncher so Norton isnt getting taken out early. Cooney is also 6'7, athletic for such a big man and a massive puncher.

Saying Vitali throws uppercuts is laughable, he has hardly ever used that punch throughout his career.

Saying Vitali stops Cooney/Norton within 5 is also laughable when he couldnt take out Arreola in 10 (his corner did it), Vitalis good but he isnt a puncher

LOL, Norton's only claim to fame is giving a old light hitting Ali fits, thats it and every single time he took on a genuine large scale puncher like Foreman/Cooney he took a nap. Fact not fiction. He will be pummeled in the ground. Rather fast too.

Cooney, yeah, the great white hope...............the only time he had to step up after his usual diet of has beens or tomatoe cans he got laid out by a guy who is known for his boxing abilities not his power. That fight would be over at the staredown because Cooney's lack of confidence and inability to control the butterflies would result in him going all out without a plan and that is absolute suicide against VK. Same outcome as in the Foreman fight, while he was old and washed up then but never the less he might land a decent punch or two and will eat the big one right on the button while coming in open like a barndoor and that will be that.

    allow me 2 tell you

u assumed it based on how badly his POINTz of LIGHT about vitali made you feel

of course it wasnt mendoza's fault you previously THOUGHT ali and other guyz were far superious to todayz fighterz

    itz ok

whatz not ok asswipe is you creating jackass counter pointz in return while you clearly have not thought this out far enough in advance

your lucky to have even read the great mendoza but instead you attempt to match witz with him

with your blow up cruiser weight commentz ?

Hurt your feelings baby girl? I didn't know Vitali was your boyfriend, sorry to say something hurtful about your lover. BUT No Vitali can't punch particularly hard, Wlad can, Vitali is a weak puncher in comparison to Cooney. He doesnt hit much harder than Holmes/Ali who couldnt KO Norton.

BTW your lack of boxing knowledge shows yourself up as the ignorant ******ed moran you are, Norton and Cooney were shot to pieces in those fights. Then again from your grasp of the English languable and lack of class let us know what a ****** you were from the offset

I sure don't see the Cooney defense/head movement/hand placement/upper body movement being effective whatsoever against the kinds of punches Vitali throws. And Klitschko doesn't fight stupid in there either. He'd work away from Cooney's left hand and turn him & the Cooney footwork is a huge disadvantage as well. He won't absorb clean punches very well and I don't see him making the 3rd round. Once hurt, I sure don't see Cooney having a bag of tricks to try and survive and kill the clock.

Norton would last longer but those wide looping right hands he threw would not work against this guy. And that crab defense is open to left hooks. Vitali would back him up and Kenny will get caught and hurt and it might go 5 or so. Bad matchup for Kenny

These are the types of posts I enjoy. Astute observations backed up by independent thinking that apply to boxing.

Yes, the crab defense or if your prefer mongoose style is open to left hooks. You are also right on Cooney's footwork and defense.

That's why boxing is such a terrific sport to gamble on. Most people evaluate everything strictly based on punching power. They seldom look at anything from the shoulders down and don't let things like defense and lateral movement count for as much as say a big right hand landed 4 bouts earlier. And they always seem to make assumptions that a guy will get the same results against elite competition as they did with C grade opposition.

True. And the bookie know how the typical fan thinks which opens up opportunity for the more astute and informed people who wager. If you have a good understating of tactics, and how styles make fights, you can do well wagering on boxing. If all else fails, just go against Teddy Atlas pick.

Vitali by DQ in round 1: he jabs well against Norton in the opening seconds, but then Cooney sneaks up behind him and lands a left to the kidneys.
