Reading through some of the comments on this forum I can't understand how some people can rate the Klitschko brothers so low. Obviously Wlad has a couple of embarrassing defeats early in his career but he has looked unbeatable since Steward has had his influence over him. Vitali has two losses, one due to injury. The other due to cuts, which is obviously a legit to lose, but he was 2 points ahead on all three judges score cards. Basically on another day he would have won. I appreciate that head to head against other heavyweights isnt a fair way to compare since other heavys such as Dempsey and Marciano etc would be too small to even be considered heavyweights. So from the modern greats if the heavyweight division (80s onwards). Who have they beaten that either Klitschko wouldn't have been able to beat. Lewis... The only name that stands out is Holyfield. Both Klitschkos would have had a difficult night but the fight could have gone either way. I see Wlad winning UD or losing via KO 50/50 for me. I see Vitali winning or losing a close split decision (would lead toward Vitali though) Would either K (as they are now ie trained by Steward and/or not injured) have lost to a Rahmen or a McCall? I dont think so. Holyfield... Bowe would cause trouble. While I can see this been close I would lead toward both brothers. Lewis would be tough. I would lean toward a prime Lewis though. Tyson... Cleaned up the heavyweight scene when it was even weaker than it is now. the K brothers would beat everyone he beat and wouldn't have collected any of the losses (apart from maybe Holyfield which I mentioned earlier) Holmes... again no problems there. Obviously its difficult to assess how a shot version of the Ks would do against Tyson but the current Ks would comfortably jab him to a UD or late stoppage. So I dont see how anyone can definatively rate the names mentioned above ahead of either brother.
This comment alone makes everything else you wrote not valid. The scene then was LIGHT years ahead of what it is now, the lower ranks of the top 20 were as good and in most cases better then todays top 10. :deal
:rofl:rofl:rofl One look at their resume, one look at WHO Wlad lost againts and how, one look at their opponents and their records, abilitys and your comment looks like Science Fiction 101. :deal
That was the point of the article... The Klitschkos arent time travellers so all you can do is imagine how they would do they fought the same people that each have fought. I think its fairly clear that they would fare well. For example would the Ks lose to 'Razor' Ruddick? Never in a month of sundays!
Of course I can just compare todays top 10 with the late 80's. Or do you think guys like Tucker, Thomas, Tubbs, Biggs, Williams, Ruddock, Bruno, Whiterspoon, Holmes (yes even in 1988 considering what he achievd even later) are on the level of guys like Arreola? :rofl
Aha, not even close. So the 80's were not even close to the todays HW scene? :nut OMG what has this place turned into?! Delusional Bitschko fanboys with no knowledge of boxing saying ridicolous things. :rofl:nut
There's no way that the 80s lower ranks of the Top 20, were the same caliber or better as today's Top 10...that's what you said, and I disagree with it.
88 was an all time low point for Holmes. He'd been retired for two years and took the fight at short notice considering how out of shape he was. Those names are no better then the Chagaev, Povetkin, Rahmem, Peter or Arreola all in all. I wonder how high you would rate those names if they were eastern european...
This has zero to do with who is from what part of the world or colour or anything. Expand your mind. 88 was not a low point for Holmes, fighting Buttrbean was. :rofl And since you think ˙˙all in all˙˙˙those names are no better then Peter, Arreola etc I will no longer adrress you in any post or topic beacuse there is obviously something VERY VERY wrong with you. Guys like Thomas and Tucker were A level fighters, half of todays top 10 is C level at best. :deal
Where has that come from? Even if I were still at school that wouldnt be relevant in any way. Is that what you say when you cant think of anything?
