Poor old Audley. Why can't he accept that the reason he's not a world champion is because he couldnt get past the domestic fighters?

Im sure every boxer has problems outside the ring but out of all the fighters ive seen he has been given sooo many chances to impress and has hardly ever come up with the goods.

When and how are we gonna get to hear this story of great woe?

Or is he going to promise it for so long and never deliver that nobody's going to care anymore?

    Sound familiar?

More Audley comedy from Kevin Garside in The Telegraph...

Audley Harrison's world title fantasy is only on Oprah

Oprah Winfrey holds the key to the mystery that is Audley Harrison.

Only she doesn't know it yet. The scoop of her year is only a phone call away. All she has to do is pick up the blower and invite Audley to America to explain why he has not won the world heavyweight title.

It is a dramatic tale, says Audley. When we hear it we will all understand why it has not happened for him as a pro. Harrison alludes to a 20kg weight that he carries on his shoulders (a big head?) This has prevented him from realising his potential.

When offered the chance to unburden himself on Radio 5 Live's Sportsweek programme on Saturday Harrison declined. The platform was not big enough. He wanted the Oprah treatment, a two-hour special the like of which was granted to Whitney Houston.

On planet Audley he is up there with the Whitneys of this world, a megastar in whom we are all fascinated. Get over yourself, Audley. We could not care less.

The only explanation for failure that he has not considered is Audley Harrison. The next episode of his world title fantasy unfolds on Friday at the ExCel Arena in Barry Hearn's excellent Prizefighter format. Once he wins, that the world title will be his. Obviously.

It is nine years since Harrison won gold in a protective helmet at the Sydney Olympics.

He has lost four of his past eight bouts, the last against a Belfast taxi driver. That is the story, Audley.

I really think it's sad that everybody pokes fun at Audley because he "has no heart". If he had no heart then why the **** would he keep getting in the ring and putting himself up as a target for ridicule by internet warriors such as your good selves? (I hear he's just as concerned about your careers as you are about his by the way).

The man's got heart make no mistake about that. Think about this... honestly!

What would you guys do if you were a boxer who failed to match as a pro the remarkably high standards you'd set for yourself as an Olympic Gold Medalist and had become a target for national ridicule in the way this fella has? You'd run and hide. Maybe enjoy regaling your friends with your tales of Olympic supremacy and enjoy spending your million earned from the BBC.

Say what you like about Audley, but he's got heart alright... and the courage of his convictions. He doesn't need the money. He's fighting through the unprecedented adversity that he is because he loves boxing and is convinced that he can still achieve his goals. ****, he probably never will achieve the World Championship, but who cares? He's the very life blood of this sport. A man who keeps believing and keeps getting through those ropes no matter what.

Audley is an idiot. I'm not being funny but he's like one of those delusional people who goes on X factor and tells Simon Cowell how they are the next Madonna and then sounds like Tyson Fury being raped, gets told their **** and comes back year after year.

And that from a man (I assume) with Michael Owen as his avatar???!!! If ever a career epitomised the descent from potential stardom to mediocrity and the climb back to... well at least he finally managed to grow a stubble...

I didn't say Audley had no heart I said he was a delusional idiot.

Also I really don't give a **** about Michael Owen, I said he was one of Fergies worst signings but if he wants to win us games against City and celebrate in Tevez's face then he does it for me. I don't get upset when you insult his lack of a beard though, obviously I don't share a bond quite as close as yours and Audleys.

Glad Audley has finally cleared this up, the BBC are to blame, of course!

No fan of Audley but comments like above are Just plain disrespectful to the sport. Any man who keeps climbing through the ropes is a man with heart. What the **** sort of comment is "protective helmet". The headguards in the amateur game are for cuts not concussion and makes you no less of a fighter.
And that "Belfast taxi driver" is one of the best HW fighters in the UK. Disrespectful.

You can't beat world stage gatekeepers like Guinn, Rogan, Skelton, Sprott and Williams if you are thinking about the next stage, fighting scared and not coming in top shape.

I do like Audley........ he just makes a fool of himself every time he gets in the ring because hes too scared, and lets himself down... he'd be better off promoting, theres definitely something hes got.. he can make a dreadful situation look good!!

Hes a idiot the sooner he gets knocked out the better, He has all the skills hes just a *****..... Got a feeling he might win the prizefighter though, Hope he doesnt because he will get more title chances and he will just waste them.
