Bernard is a student of the game, a grizzly old veteran, and I've learned over the years to never EVER count the guy out of any situation, no matter how stacked the cards are against him.

HOWEVER, more and more often, he refers to himself as this great vanquisher of youth, this destroyer of the up-and-coming in the sport.

Can somebody please help me out with this one? Because the only guy I can see on his resume who qualifies for that category is one Kelly Pavlik -- A Kelly Pavlik who had jumped up two classes to from 160 to 170 with a rigid style suited perfectly to Bernard's pugilistic trickery. Is there anyone else he can really use to lay his claim to that?
Now, I KNOW he isn't talking about the Howard Eastmans and the Robert Allans of the world, who truthfully don't even deserve mention. I'm quite positive he can't be referring to an Oscar De La Hoya he dwarfed in size almost as much as floyd did Marquez, or similarly, the blown-up welterweight Trinidad. I can't see it being a *****-tit besotted winky right about 15 pounds north of the border, nor could it be arguably his best win in Tarver, whose style noone would ever confuse for "Youthful"... Perhaps he's referring to decision losses to Jermain Taylor? What about Calzaghe? Just don't know what to make of it all,

    Sincerely,

    Confused @ ESB

precisely why I don't really like BHop too much. I respect his skill, and his knowledge of the sport, but the only win of his that i consider "special" was defeating an unbeaten Tito. The others were a blown up Winky, a blown up KP, an overmatched ODLH, I mean he's good, very skilled, but imma quote Freddy Roach "I don't see any greatness"

Wasn't Trinidad like 27 when Bernard destroyed him? Surely he qualifies.

    Check out these lyrics from Roy's "And still" song;

    Mr. unstopppable (and still)
    Mr. undroppable (and still)
    Mr. invincible (what)
    Mr. unbeatable (and still)
    Mr. unknockoutable

My ass, I know Tarver and Johnson definately disaggree with this.

Dayuum. Johnson had Roy seized up like Tim Tebow when he got ****ed up against Kentucky last Saturday. It looks like Roy already got his reality check. Like Fat Joe said, "even Roy Jones was forced to lean back". When he gets in that ring with Nard, he won't be fighting some cop or some garbage man. Hopkins will be the judge, the jury, and for damn sure The Executioner. Say bye bye to your days of fighting Roy.:hi:

    hahaha..

Tarver lands the luckiest punch in the history of the sport and Roy still got up b4 10... Then, because he's a true warrior, he came right back way too soon and fought a ferocious Glen Johnson (who can still bang with the alledged top dogs in the division)... Roy was gun shy and couldn't handle a solid punch yet.

Now, he's finally moving past the fear of being knocked out and getting back to the style that mad him a boxing god! I mean even the wins over Hanshaw and Tito didn't look like Roy out there. We saw the real Roy at 40 against Lacy

Like Tarver had Roy's number, Roy has Hopkins number.. he's gonna take this one no doubt

What a coincidence, Roy happens to look good against a severly past it fighter who goes by "Left Hook", that can't even throw a left hook anymore. Face it, this version of Roy got his ass kicked twice against a Tarver that Hopkins dismantled. He was got bruralized and put to sleep against a Glen Johnson that Hopkins lambasted. He also went the distance with a severly past it and bloated Trinidad; the same Trinidad that Hopkins took apart and stopped when Trinidad was in his prime and undefeated. Let's also not forget that Roy got totally embarrassed by the same Joe Calzaghe that Hopkins lost a SD too(and Hopkins face wasn't covered in his own blood like Jones).

Hopkins took Tito's and Pavlik's 0 when they were rising stars. He also took Glen Johnson's 0. Many also felt he beat Taylor and if he had gotten just credit, he would've taken his 0. And he "exposed" Taylor's flaws. No one knew Taylor had such flaws until he fought Hopkins.

And these guys weren't "young" but he completely derailed Winky's career when he was a top 5 P4Per and at the top of his game. He made Tarver look foolish.

For some reason BHOP seems to think that Boxing revolves around him lately.
