I know Butterbean is regarded as a joke by many, but his punching power is fierce. I know he stands zero chance against the likes of Ali, Louis, Tyson, Frazier, Liston, Lewis, etc, but how would he do against these men?

    Jersey Joe Walcott
    David Tua
    Floyd Patterson
    Ezzard Charles
    Archie Moore
    Marciano
    Ezzard Charles
    Dempsey

In three months it's end of year. We must remember this for 'Dumbest post of year."

The Butterbean factor is bad enough, the two lists are worse. Liston and lewis on top. Marciano and Dempsey lumped in with David Tua on second.

Butterbean was afraud. ONe of the real fights he had, at Madison Square Garden was against a guy who was 1-8. After fight he was 2-8. KO in second over Butterbean.

Trivia note--guy who ko'd him was same guy who had fight with Tyson in street outside an after hours club, and tried to sue Tyson.

Well if he lost every round (aside from the KD in the 10th) to a 52-year old, flabby Larry Holmes...

That was a slip, even though it got counted as a knockdown. The punch never even hit Holmes.

You guys have no manners. You have no clue how to treat a lady. I'd be surprised if you ever got laid. Show a little respect. I only wanted your opinions. If you think the thread is stupid, just don't post in it. Show a lady some respect. Geez.

Easy fellas the thread starter is a lady, I think.:conf

But to answer the thread question, Butterbean did lose to a 52 year old version of Larry Holmes so it's safe to assume he would lose to the fighters you listed.

Every fighter on that list destroys Esch, of course. Sorry, but he was a joke.

What if John Ruiz was on the list?

At last, a gentleman. Yes, I'm a woman. My name is Janelle.

You proved a great point. If Butterbean lost so easily to a flabby, 52 year old Larry Holmes, then he'd lose to any of the men I listed. I didn't think about that. Thanks.

Depends on whether he's allowed to cheat!

Actually, Esch is the level of guy that even Ruiz didn't need to cheat to win.:yep

Butterbean was horrible. I think he boxed some WWF guy once and it was actually competitive.

He did but it was staged, it was against Marc Mero who was actually a New York Golden Gloves winner as a youngster.

Allow me to apologize for the behavior of these dogs. They were obviously unaware that we have a woman (and a beautiful one at that) posting in our midst. Though it's already been answered, you have to understand that Butterbean was just a sideshow. Against 4th raters and the average fat, brutish club fighter who doesn't know a slip from a hall pass or a roll from a cinnabon, he would succeed purely on his power. Against any type of boxing technician, the guy was exposed as the no talent blob he was. Hell, most of the time it didn't even take that. In a bar fight, he's golden. Against a real boxer, he's an immobile mass better known as a punching bag.

Now let me stop pretending I'm some kind of gentleman. In reality, I'm just an ******* like everyone else here, even moreso I'm sure they'll tell you. I know how to treat a lady, though.;)

One things for certain, Butterbean could bang and would beat the **** out of any civilian 'tough guy'. But against genuine pugilists he's out of his depth, Hydraulix, I apologise for the ****s :good
