I believe the Meldrick Taylor fight made Chavez the folk hero he is today. You're wrong about the outcome though. He was getting worked, but by the end of the fight not only had he won by dramtatic ko... he had no cuts or welts of any kind.

He fought a war against one of the best fighters out there and won.

Chavez Sr is a true champion.. as for his son... I have no idea why he doesn't fight real fighters.. even after 40 fights!!! Bring on Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez, hell anyone in the top 10 at Jr. Middleweight.

sorry ur telling me ssr didnt fight bums and tamatoe cans? i personally think fighters nowadays are being rushed and there is no need for that look at the kids age when he is 25-26 he will be ready once he steps up to world class then we'll see.

i think your more pissed off about the fact his ppv

I think it's the other way around, it's Chávez Sr. trying to make Jr. be like him. I bet Jr. would have retired from boxing long ago if it weren't for his father. I'm pretty sure even Jr. himself knows he doesn't have what it takes to be a great boxer, but his father keeps pushing him.

Because he's making alot of money fighting C-D level fighters, once he fights a B level fighter he'll lose.

Meldrick taylor was not a twenty fight novice. He'd had hundreds of amateur fights, the same with Whitaker!

Chavez ducked NOBODY, does anyone doubt the outcome of Chavez vs Ray Mancini? :rofl:rofl

you're wrong, chavez sr has said many times that he hates that his son fights....he wishes chavez jr wouldn't, but jr has the heart of a lion, he wants to make his own name...which is rare cause camacho jr, hearns jr and many more have failed bigtime.....

Jr. has no lion heart. Jr. wanted to quit after his fight with Vanda, a C level fighter who gave him hell. And let me tell you, I think Vanda won that fight by a mile.

then you are blind if you think vanda won....and you're also blind of you think a kid that doesn't have to fight, doesn't have heart....

Well, if you are in love with Jr., nothing will make you accept he's not made for this. Love is blind.
