It's just a shame that I would be watching Pac-Cotto instead.

I'll just check the replays later the day.

    Back to topic...

If Vera wins, especially in devastating fashion, did he stake a claim for a shot at Machida? Or he still needs to beat either Rashad/Thiago Silva before getting serious consideration.

    I'll also be watching Pac-Cotto.
At the state Randy is in, I am not interested in watching him fight. I'm tired of seeing fighters who were once great/good continue fighting only to become gatekeepers and good wins other guys resumes

Couture is still a top fighter, but the one type of fighter he should avoid are young strikers. Everytime he gets hit now hes on ***** street or just ktfo. Having said that I think Vera is somewhat overrated as a striker and Randy should be able to get in range and maul him.

Yah, Couture gets hurt now when a brisk breeze blows through the room. I wish he'd just hang em up.

This is a good style matchup for Couture IMO. About 75 percent of Vera's offense is his kicks and that plays into Couture's hands.

I think the Gonzaga head kick he ate and the massive knee and elbow he ate from Lesnar where more then a brisk breeze.

This bout doesnt interest me. Seems quite pointless. If Vera wins big deal. It wont really propel him to stardom although he's in the queue for a title shot at 205. Does he deserve one of the back of Couture? Nah. What does Couture gain? Absolutely nothing.

My thoughts: Vera kicks, Couture clinches, Couture throws Brandon, Couture ground and pounds Vera for the rest of the round. Repeat through round 3. Couture via TKO or UD.

If Vera can use his footwork to stay away from Couture - then he might be able to lure Randy into something or outpoint him - but if he makes the mistake of clinching with him - he will lose badly. Vera is a Greco Roman wrestler as well - so he might think he has a chance in the clinch with Randy which would be his mistake.

I think it could go either way. I'm going to this one, looking forward to it. Then I will be going to watch Pac vs Cotto hours later seeing as there on at totally different times. Remember 105's in the UK.

Which is why I said that he "now" seems to get hurt easier.

In his last fight, almost anything that landed seemed to wobble him. I'm not sure how different he is physically since the Gonzaga and Lesnar fights, but he looked down right awful against Nog. And that stemmed primarily from his total inability to absorb any kind of punishment.

Hey, if he proves me wrong against Vera I'll take it back.

They aren't competing with boxing again. This is stupid. Challenging another p4p number 1. This will simply hurt both sports.

Couture v Vera is a real good fight.

Bouinko is right. Couture does not have anymore the punch resistance he had vs Gonzaga or Lesnar.
Nog never had power, and was wobbling him nearly punch landed.
    Vera will TKO him
