Super Six UK TV deal announcment Weds?

How does that follow? Hennesey has the rights to sell Direll-Froch, that doesn't nessarcerily mean he has the right to sell options on the other Super 6 fights. At the moment theres no evidence at all to suggest these fights are being sold as a package, it looks to me like each promoter is responsibe for getting deals (outside of Showtime in the USA) for his own fights.

I havn't seen that mentioned. I've seen him ask that a TV comapny pick up the Super 6, not that they could actually get it from him. Negotiations I've read Hennessy being involved in have been for the Froch-Direll fight only (the £100,000 ITV offer for instance).

 

Do you have a link for that? Because I've asked the question a number of times and no-one has ever answered it. There's not particularly any reason to think he would be, is there?

 

I'm not saying Kessler def. isn't there to announce a big UK Super 6 deal but people are reading too much into him being there as it stands.

Henessey might well own the UK rights to Froch-Kessler and just want to give that a little advance PR.....

 

No, which is what gets me. They have had the odd delayed Friday Night Fights and one live but that is stuff where the TV rights will cost absolutely nothing-as it is effectively their weekly TV show in America.

This is different, as rights would have to be organised through each promoter, as happens with pretty much all sporting TV rights.

I've been impressed with how ESPN have tried to save money so far. For example, no studio presentation unless its an EPL, SPL or Europa League game, and they've been taking the world feed commentary and pictures for other sports where possible.

If ESPN were to show it, I highly doubt we'll see the Showtime coverage, unless there is no world feed available. The world feed footage is what you got whenever Setanta showed a US fight, when secondsout show a fight and when Sky do (although sky replace the world feed commentary with their own, they still take those pictures).

That being said, I can't see them doing separate deals with Sauerland, Hennessy, Shaw and co. so unless Hennessy owns the tv rights for all the fights in the UK (which I really doubt he does) I doubt every fight will be shown.

I dunno, if ESPN had said "We are looking at gaining major Boxing rights", I'd be more tempted to hink its them. However, as far as I'm aware, there has been absolutely nothing from ESPN UK about them showing more Boxing over here. As cobbler said, its probably wishful thinking for the most on here.

They know the BBC aren't interested, itv don't give a **** because it costs mone and isn't Football and Eurosport probably couldn't aford it. It would be the majority of posters on here worst nightmare if Sky were to show it...

I'd prefer it not to be ESPN, as its another subscription that would need paying, so any other station and I'd be happy.

 

Its one of the pitfalls of the internet...people specualte pure rubbish and it becomes the subject

 

As part of to get fighters into the tournements, the European promoters were allowed to sell the rights to the whole tournement in the home country.
