From a strategy stand point what does Cotto bring to the table that will win him this fight. I like Cotto and think he's a great fighter, but I don't see anything he has in his aresenal that Floyd can't handle. PBF by UD.

His feints that are underrated and his body work i guess. A long time ago everyone wanted to see Cotto vs Mayweather. People are acting like this is a new matchup. These guys have been set to fight eachother since they were both at 140. Its meant to happen. Cotto is an olympic boxer who has power and both hands, a supreme jab used to slow down both JUDAH and MOSLEY and brutal body shots. I give Cotto a good chance of beating Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Well, i think Cotto is one of the top 3 hardest punchers Mayweather has faced, i also will go out on a limb and say that (at least, IMO) Cotto is the smartest fighter hes fought, and brings a rare combination of power, strength, and skills..... and knows how to fight differant fighters differantly.

I dont think Cotto brings any ONE thing that will trouble Mayweather to be honest, but its his all around array of abilities, skills, and attributes that make this fight TO ME at least, the fight i crave most in all of boxing behind Cotto vs Pac.

    Judah
    Hoya
    Hatton
    Baldomir
    Mitchel
    Gatti
    Corrales
    Castillo
    Brusseles
    Sosa

None of these guys, to me, bring the level of danger that Cotto brings for one reason or another.... be it being past it (hoya) or being just so much naturally smaller then him (castillo) that to compare the two is a bit absurd.

I believe Cotto would be the best fighter above 135lbs that Mayweather has fought, and his most dangerous test since Castillo.... IMO.

And which is why i want this fight.... *though i will say the same can be said for Mosley*

agreed. Not to mention the terrific heart and basically all around physical dimension he would bring vs a mayweather.

Simply put Cotto deserves it. Take out the now questioable Marg win and he's done all that is required of him and is def Numero Uno at WW.

Result - well he gets outboxed. Way too much speed and skill from Floyd

PBF UD but do not expect anything like the last PBF-JMM fight. PBF will respect Cotto's size and power.

Bodyshots to slow down a fighter like Floyd, and cutting off the ring. Cotto can do both, if Cotto pressures, I give him a good chance. If
Mayweather could not take out Marquez, I dont think he will take out
Cotto, so thats 12 hard rounds.

Let's not forget that Cotto outboxed Sugar Shane and beat him to the punch many times. Cotto is slicker than people give him credit for and I know for certain conditioning won't be a factor as in Margo Vs Cotto. I see a competitive fight; maybe leaning toward mayweather for a UD.

It's just that people think Sugar Shane could potentially beat Money May cuz of speed, power and combos...yet Cotto beat Sugar at his own game....

This situation is a perfect example of styles making fights.

Outboxing Sugar Shane is impressive, but he's never been unoutboxable. Cotto would not outbox Floyd, he wouldn't come close. Likewise, Shane can beat Floyd but not with slick boxing. Head to head, I feel Shane > Floyd > Cotto > Shane (this is assuming the same Shane from the Margarito fight shows up). Just one of those weird boxing things.

When Pac gets KTFO expect a new "he can beat Mayweather" hype train to begin.

when pbf was at his best, i say no one beats him but i have seen decline in him in a few fights. his workrate is not what it was. also dont forget the injuries that he suffers with

he really seemed uncomfortable with hatton pressure in the first five rounds of there fight

cotto will really ask more questions than hatton

think his judging of distance and range cud be a factor. looking at cotto nothing really, and i mean REALLY stands out above say manny's speed or floyds skill but somethings there for him to be a world class fighter

I honestly think Cotto is far too slow to beat Mayweather & will be outboxed to a UD.

Cotto should not try to outbox Floyd because he cant. But if he gets on the inside and pressures him much Like Hatton and Castillo this wiil be good.
And he hits a lot harder than Hatton, and he wont fold off one punch.
    Good fight!!

Cotto cannot win this fight, to be honest, I doubt he will make it past Pacman. Unless he shows me something that he hasnt for the past couple of years, he is on the tailend of his stardom.
