i do not have an issue with paying for a ppv.

i do have an issue with paying for a ppv with a tv channel/company that has no track record of showing boxing and with a terrible undercard.

Given the revenues this is likely to attract and the rumoured 100k offer for the Froch/Dirrell fight, it would more likely be short term gain for long term gain.

I mean it's all very well getting people to buy a Hatton PPV on SBO when they've been advertising it on all their sports channels and Sky One for weeks, showing 24/7 and banging on about during every live football match going.

This is going to be tucked away on a channel that no-one has ever heard of, I doubt they have much money to advertise on other channels and it's going to be on at 2am.

The 'undercard' is Abraham/Taylor. That's pretty good.

Exactly:good. Hennessy should have bit the bullet and just took the lower offer with an established company to begin with. At least Froch would have got some exposure.

    I agree with you.
However you would think if Mick had any sort of business persona he would have sounded out a tv deal months ago!
I mean Froch pulled in millions for Pascal on ITV, was in an exicting fight against taylor. If he had pushed this to tv bosses surely one of them would have taken a bite.
Froch has got to leave mick asap in my opinion otherwise hes not going to get the exposre/recogniton he deserves

its a total **** up. also the fact its only on sky. I lived near nottingham a few years ago and Virgin/NTL pretty much have a lock down on digital TV in the midlands.

All this grand talk beforehand of announcing a "UK TV deal" is a joke. He's setup a Mickey Mouse Sky channel to show the fight that will probably do similar numbers to the Froch-Taylor stream.

I have got a feeling that is fat mick doesnt pay Froch a certain amount, Froch can cancel his contract.

therefore he has to take as much cash as possible for each fight.

Id be amazed if this 'new' ppv channel brings in over 100k

Call me nieve but unless your a hardcore boxing fan/froch fan(who can still get a ticket for the fight!!) nobody will buy this.

Froch cant be making that much money off of mick surely!?

Unless hes giving him a wee nipple tickle as added bonus!

Does anyone know the numbers Hennessy got on that stream he set up for the JT fight? I cannot believe only Sky customers get to see this on TV:lol::patsch.

Personally, I think that Fat Mick has picked up a channel number that is not used on the SKY EPG for example when UFC 100 was broadcast on Setanta Ireland's old number, but they did not put this on PPV. I can see Mick was being a greedy ******* but ultimately coming up short regarding this whole Super Six tournament financially and promoting his other fighters.

I can't imagine more than couple of hundred people brought the Froch v Taylor webstream, bearing in mind it was UK only, at 3am in the morning and cost £10.

I did what I imagine most others did. Avoided the result till it was on itv4 th next evening. Thankfully I sky+'d it so avoided all the ad breaks, and jeez there were a lot.

I doubt we'll see Dempsey presenting on this channel. He presents the Football on Setanta Ireland. Judge for yourselves how stable that job is:tong
