when he was up and coming i actually thought he looked like one of the best prospects then he showed what a china chin he had but still he wasnt the worst theres been some bad wbo champs at least he beat an aging but still decent tony tucker and tuff joe hipp. The top 2 are michael bennt and sergei lyakovich then theres about 20 medicore guys that were more like lower top 10 types than champs

John Ruiz - hands down. Total fraud, cheated in virtually every fight - without King, no one would have ever heard of this talentless slob.

I think I've got it. Although all of the aforementioned candidates were aptly picked, I've have to go with the 2005 version of Shannon Briggs. He won a come from behind victory in a fight he was clearly losing then went on to get out boxed for all 12 rounds against Iggy. Briggs has to be one of the worst heavyweight title holder in recent memory. The worst long-standing belt holder is clearly Valuev.

    No way it's Liakhovich.

    He was actually decent.

I do believe that Valuev would have beaten Ingmar Johanson, H2H the worst for me.

:nono Disagree go under boxing record archives and find list of all heavy wt champs u will find quite a few that ruiz would have beat. HE has actually beaten a hanful of good fighters split 3 with aging but still good holy,k johnson, rahman, golota, mccline and controversial ones to valuevand chaguev.

i don't get the hate for sergei, yes he had a short reign and hasn't gotten back to winning significant fights, but he had some skill and beat a good version of brewster and would've defended against briggs but for briggs hitting the lottery at the end. u can argue briggs is a worse champ given that and his next fight. sergei was a better fighter than ruiz. obviously seldon's reign was pretty embarassing (though seldon wasn't a bad fighter when he was trying). just speaking recently, maskaev and peter have to be considered

    WBF ain't a real belt.

There's quite a few bad ones, but Shannon Briggs was terrible.
