I've been begging to see Holyfield retire even before fighting Toney, the Ruiz losses were more than enough then he comes back and gets a "headbutt" victory over Rahman and that convinces him he belongs up there till the Ibragimov loss. No that he whopped Valuev' ass DON'T expect him to consider retirement unless he's KO'd cold. It will be sad to see but Evander has been begging for it lately and ONLY that will encourage him to hang it. It's not that Holyfield proved he's "back" or any of that nonsense against the fraud alien Valuev, it's just that Valuev is THAT bad. Valuev should have lost to Donald, Ruiz twice and Holyfield. This alien is the reason why Holyfield believes he belongs up there, it's just a Rahman fight "refresh" to keep him mentally in it.

Can you feel it already? How the promoters are setting up these BS fights for Haye? If he wins against Valuev, then: 1. He has to face Ruiz. BS fight #1, but the WBA wants it. 2. Then they will setup a big "duel of the ex CWs" against Holyfield. Bs fight #2. They're already trying to start the marketing machine. How pathetic. This is playing out exactly as many thought it will. Haye will hide in the UK and box guys he can actually win against. Like a 47 year old Ruiz (6"2) and a 59 year olf Holyfield (6"2). Mix in Chagaev (6"1) and you have Haye's next three opponents should he win against Valuev.
someone should explain evander he should retire. but that one will also have to have an idea for a replacement income for evander. i saw the real deal grill , i believe it's not enough. i read he has a partnership or something in steroid marketing , still not enough. he has lots of wives and children to pay for. a little too late for him to invest because he already spent almost everything if not more than everything. something is apparently bad or it least wrong about evander's surroundings. they only want more money from him and don't care. not so hard to imagine. try thinking here about ideas for how evander can still make money without fighting. okay , i will make a new thread for it. someone should still make him see the ideas.
You got it right there. Valuev lost all of those fights. Buts still, holy impressed me that night against Valuev. Considering his age, I did not think he could do it.
Holy looked good by dancing around, not by beating Valuev to the punch every round. Both men threw next to NOTHING if you look at the entire distance, with Holyfield firing 2-3 nice combos in the earlier rounds. Holyfield IMO gave away the fight by not being more active in the latter part of the fight. The belt was right there for the grabs, he must know he must close the deal RIGHT THERE instead of just dancing up and down without throwing a single punch. Basically he let the giant throw his slow-motion jabs one after another, winning (if that is possible with 7 punches thrown per round) a couple of the later rounds.
Holyfield would get smashed by Haye now. He shouldn't be allowed to fight him unless he beats John Ruiz (a thriller I know!) who is the mandatory for the woinner of Haye and Valuev.
Truth is, this isn't cool at all. The guy's done enough and needs to retire. He's reachin' that age where he can get seriously hurt and for what...? Know what I'm sayin? He's probably tryin' to pay the property tax on that massive kingdom of a house of his. lol
Holyfield sold out a 12,000 seat venue in Switzerland against Valuev. Even if Holyfield is a walking dead, his name alone would help sell tickets in the UK against Haye. Much more so than against the run-of-the-mill alternatives such as Meehan, Austin etc. Haye's in it for the money, not for glory. We know that much by now. If he could make more money fighting Holyfield than fighting younger but less well-known competition he'll still pick a low risk but high prestige name like Holyfield. It will be a business decision just he preferred Valuev over Vitali.
