thats the crux of it for me too. To beat Tyson you had to really beat him up and all the while Haye was trying to go about that Tyson could put the lights out at any moment.

Khan's acheivements? Really? Khan is a talent too but let's talk real! Khan is only getting better b/c he's with Roach and he lost to a no named opponent by vicious KO. Then he beat a very OLD and past his prime MAB, yet that wasn't a clear victory due to the cut Marco recived. Tyson faught LEGIT guys in the mid to late 80's brah. They were GOOD fighters who were proven. Spinks, Berbick, tubbs, holmes, Biggs, Bruno....c'mon..not even a debate homie.

Haye for me has got all the talent and potential in the world. But he needs some new trainers b/c he's a physical specimen with a lot of tools and gifts but he's not maximizing them. He's got a classic boxer/puncher style that focus's on his power...which is fine, but he he doesn't have the kind of ring intelligence that would have him fare well against the best of the HW division...which is weak at the moment. Aside from Vit and Wald who are technically the best HW's out there today. No one is even close to them at the momment.

Hes beaten more legit heavys than haye has! How about Mccline a,.bd chazz witherspoon 23-0 ,,damien willis 21-0, Tann 23-2,Walker 28-2,Garcia 19-1 and tough journeyman sedrick fields he knocked all of them out. Where as Haye as only beat monte barrett (who dropped him) thats it! Oh by the way check out Thompson knocking out Haye on you tube it was 5th round a legit ko loss to a cruiser:deal

Possibly , I'm a big haye fan and I think part of the reason I like watching him so much is his ( apart from a couple of fights ) hail mary style. You're right that some real proper trainers could probably make him better but maybe he would be a bit more boring.

Its weird , its his approach that I think would make him a nightmare for Wlad but that same approach would get him put in a box by Vitali.

LOL so you give two brothers the same chance as Lewis in his prime? who destroyed a prime Vitali when he was bloated, old and shot? LOL

Tyson ducked Lewis for a reason, Lewis was and is always better.

Haye has the ability to knock anyone out.
Don't rule him out against a prime tyson.

Hmmm they peaked about ten years apart , but yeah Lewis would always be a big ask for Tyson as he was soooo much smaller than Lewis and Lewis was a very effective fighter.

but I thought we were talking Haye v Tyson not wether Tyson really wanted any part of Lewis or not ?

It demonstrates how much Tysons career was managed, rather than a legit fighter in Lewis, they paid him 4 mill to step aside, thats an insane amount and shows the fear Tysons management had.

Douglas was the only one he fought who had no fear, and thast why he sparked Tyson out, Haye would have the same mindset, and i do personally believe Haye would KO Tyson.

I definitley give him a shot with Wald. I think when that fight was mentioned I evened leaned towards Haye a bit due to his confidence going in. But when they said his fight would be against Vit.....I knew that was going to be a problem. I think Haye's style would benefit a bit with the RIGHT trainer. Add to his game, shave some of the rawness, but implement the right skill sets to highlight his speed and power. The thing is Haye's got great tools, but since his power is there he relys on that far too much instead of setting up his offense or creating openings. And at HW I'm not sure if his power is there yet. Sure he took Barrett out but for me Nik will be a good indication of how well his power transalates as a true HW.

I will say Haye fighting Monte was his first and only fight. Usually it takes a couple of fights for a fighter to acclimate to the new weight and I'm hoping to see Haye win the title against Valuev. I think we need the kind of character Haye brings. He's brash, cocky/confident and believe's he's the best. You need that in a champion....or in some champions who can pull it off. Haye is definitly exciting in and out of the ring. But I'd rather see him make the most of his natural ablitly and talent.

There were plenty who faught Mike without fear, but once they got buzzed it was hard for them to recoup with the kind of finisher Mike was. By all means...when Mike hurt you he was going to finish you. Aside from the Douglas fight. Haye maybe could have KO'd Tyson. At HW....one punch changes everything. But you got to play the odds. It's more likely with Mikes style vs Hayes that Mike would land that one punch before Haye ever had the opportunity.
