Better is not the issue. Williams was able to walk through hell and take shots Haye has never come close to experiencing. If Haye gets hit by Tyson or Vitali like Williams did just in the first two rounds of both fights, he would be knocked out cold. Haye needs much better defense that anything he has shown in the past to be a force at HW. Against cruisers, where he was the bigger, stronger guy he won with his athletic talent. At HW, he would need to be a fully developed fighter and I doubt that he is with his low level of activity.

Its hard to say just how Haye would fair against the Tyson in the Lewis fight...Lewis was a hell of a fighter and Tyson was taken to school by him. He was pretty much out of danger after the first round. Could Haye make it through that 1st round without gettin tagged? If so his chances go up.

Obviously you don't have to be black...but seriously...where's the racism you're talkin about???? Explain it to me since I'm such a moron.

Clearly all the American's, Scots, Welsh, Italians and Canadians are voting for Tyson because Haye is English.

Sure 1 or 2 British posters will vote for Tyson, but if Haye was American, expect Haye to be way ahead on the poll, esp if Tyson was English.

Well he is 2-0 at HW, first of all, and he shipped big punches against Barrett (20 knockouts at HW) and survived. Tyson, of course, is several classes above Barrett on offence, to say the least, but the version that fought Williams? Not really. Slower, orientated by single shots, no longer devillishly accurate, no longer powering in behind shots with torque. Against Sanil Sam, Williams was battered all over the ring. Against Tyson, he got hit hard but was able to survive - this is a stand-and-trade bread and butter for Tyson type of fighter, that's why he was picked. Tyson basically got out-punched injured knee or not.

Whatever you make of Haye's defence, he is much quicker than Williams and harder to hit by daylight. Certainly, on paper, going into that fight, Williams would always, always be the less likely to win. That's why he was picked!

I actually think not. Tyson had a barnstormer of a first round against Lewis, he really turned the clock back. I think that Mike would probably get Haye in the first round in fact! Which just goes to show how much difference a matter of months can make...and of course, when the heart goes out of a fighter...

Anyway, Lewis used his range and his excellent defensive infighting to get through that round and because he tagged Tyson with bombs in that first frame he went on to dominate. But I don't think Haye is that skilled and he obviously isn't that rangey.

Haye being English has nothing to do with why ppl voted for Tyson. In fact, its quite the opposite of what you're saying. You're completely blinded by love you have for your countrymen....not that being proud to be English is a bad thing. But its no doubt clouding your judgement. If they were both English...the poll would be the same...perhaps even a little more one-sided for Tyson. Prime Tyson tears Prime Haye a new *******.

I can't believe there is still people on here who think Anglosaxon is being serious. He's sitting at home laughing his ass off at anyone he can get a rise out of.

The late Tyson usually looked good in the first 1-3 rounds, then tired terribly. Against Lewis he was just punching single ring hands after the 3rd round.

I think Tyson actually looked REALLY good in the first two rounds against Danny Williams. Excellent foot work, he was even jabbing well for Christ's sake. Haven't seen that in 15 years. But Williams took Tyson's best shots and then came back later, and Tyson (injury or not) was too gassed to find any answer.

Yeah Tyson looked great in the first two rounds. I thought it probably had a lot to do with Freddie Roach training him for that fight. Roach is one hell of a trainer. I'm lookin forward to seeing what he can do with Rigondeaux.
