Thought one of the names of the game was to - Hit and not be hit - and he does that very well.

Its difference between enjoing being punched and avoing any punch which is thrown.

The guy who enjoed being punched was Gatti for example,
the guy who DESPERATELY is trying to avoid even single punch is Floyd.

Between these two there is about 100.000 professional boxers (including Paul Williams)
who CAN from time to time receive the punch if it looks like a slap while trying to deliver
his own shot. Floyd does not belong to these 100.000 boxers and I'm interested why?

If these other hundred boxers could beat people without taking any punches then I'm 100% positive that they would, however they don't have the skills that Mayweather has when it comes to blocking/dodging. Don't be silly, even professional boxers know that taking constant blows to the head throughout your career isn't good for you and they tend to avoid it when they can.

I can understand that completely, NOBODY likes to receive CONSTANT BLOWS,
but there is difference between minimalize the risk and rule it completely out.

There is difference between CONSTANT BLOWS and single SLAP so
I want to know why is Floyd avoiding even the slaps thrown at him?
He is fast enough and experienced enough to distinguish the power
shot from the slap, but he is dodging them out without exception.

he is not afraid to be hit, its just that he is too hard to hit.. he would not be in boxing if he is afraid in the first place. it is his style of fighting that is why he is very hard to hit...

well his gloves can be hit and his left shoulder:lol:

:huh He does get hit on occasion though, it's not as if he's never taken a clean shot in his career. it's just that 99% of the time his defensive dominance over a fighter is so ascertive that they either hit his gloves or swipe at clean air.

Why get hit that wud be stupid and when ur defensively as gud as him why shud he let sumbody hit him. His style is that of a boxer not a brawler. And he is also so relaxed even on the ropes and sometimes he sits on the ropes and calls his opponent in to try and hit him. He is also excellent at fightin inside whichhe doesn't get credit for. The name of the game is hit and dont get hit and hes the best at it.

Mayweather prides himself on his defense. He will allways be more defensive then offensive. I don't know if its because he is scared to get hit or just because its the fact that he prides himself on having great defense. Being in a corner is also a very dangerous place to box as there is limited room while the opponent has all the room he wants to move back forth or side to side. As a matter of fact most fighters cover themselves when the go in a corner.

Also trading blows would also waste stamina, Instead he could save his stamina by avoiding opponents punches then as they slow down due to fatigue his speed becomes even more of a problem for oppents to react to his retalition.

Besides there are times when he exchanges and trades. He usually covers when the oppnent decides to go wild wasting punches if he got Mayweather in a corner.

Instead of going wild they should look to keep that jab on him in his face and place good shots in a timely manner. Try to block him from seeing that other arm and where its going.
