When Jermain Taylor beat BHop he won all the belts at 160. JT was the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. He vacated the IBF and WBA titles largely because he wanted to rematch Hopkins, and not fight their mandatories.

Abraham won the vacant IBF title in a fight with Ikeke. Abraham and Ikeke were not the IBF's first choice to fight for the title. Some better fighters turned it down in favor of other fights.

I've maintained for a long time that Abraham held a world title only because JT vacated, and Winky turned down the opportunity to fight for it when it was vacant.

If Jermain whips Abraham's ass, will you concede my point. Simple question, yes or no. Please vote.

Boo, he would, even if he may lose against JT (yes, there's a good chance that he will).

Slap me, but Winky Wright would lose to AA and Pavlik would lose also. AA would've won the title against Pavlik then.

You made a point in walk with me style(only you understand what you ask0.

I believe Abraham MIGHT have won a title if Taylor didn't vacate but he might have not.Inclne to say no.

JT certainly had a better chance of beating AA 3 years ago than he does now. AA is gonna knock Jermain out.

Boo, if the question was if AA would've won the title against the undisputed middleweight champ JT three years ago, then my answer is no.

When Jermain beat Hopkins a few years ive always felt that he would totally outclass Abraham but now im not so sure.

It's a pointless question, because we are entering fantasy land, and we all know your conclusion, Boo, our underpaid Abraham hater.

But let's play the game. I simply doubt Taylor and his team saw a realistic chance of making 4 organizations mandatories, that would've meant a mandatory fight every 3 month - so Taylor vacated not to do that. However, if in an alternative world Taylor would've kept all 4, I think the JT who fought Ouma, Spinks and Pavlik would've lost to Abraham by KO, as Steward messed his style up pretty badly. The Taylor who fought Pavlik (II) and Froch has a much better chance vs. AA.

So let's stay in fantasy land and say AA beat Taylor. Would KP have a title if AA hasn't vacated?

If JT held all 4 titles I don't think he would have gotten a shot at the titles unless he worked his way to a mandatory.

Opened this thread on the premise of 'a different spin' only to find the normal spin. Feel so robbed :(

Pavlik and his team are rooting for Taylor to beat Abraham ... and they compared Abraham to Miranda as far as ability. I don't disagree ... Abraham is 5'9 (maybe) 5'10 pushing ... against a legit 6'1 guy who has 5 or 6 inch reach advantage ... no matter what he's going to be at the end of that Taylor jab ...

I think alot of people are sleeping on Jermain Taylor ... i'll go on record to say that Jermain will be in the finals ... cause I know all 3 of those Euro fighters are overrated (including) Kessler ... and they will lose to the Americans ...

If Taylor gets a rematch against Froch, he gets a UD or late rounds stoppage the next time around ... I haven't seen anyone better in a rematch _

Saurland set this up with the extra point for KO because it favors the Yuropeons in the points system. Taylor hasn't KO'd anyone in a long time. This will make it harder or him to get to the next round. Not that I don't believe he isn't better than at least 2 of the other guys.

The poll is 50/50 right now.

If JT had not vacated, or if Winky had fought for the vacant title after JT vacated, Abraham would have had to fight one of these guys:

    Prime JT at 160.
The same version of Winky that held JT to a draw.
Same Pavlik that sparked JT and then beat him by UD.

I can't picture the guy who got his face mangled by Miranda winning any of those fights.
