The Hatton fight. Come on maybe bigger in weight but power and speed was all on PAcs side. I thought Pac would KO Hatton. Not as early as he did but i thought in the later rounds he would.

Granted, Oscar De La Hoya was supposed to run over Manny Pacquiao like he was nothing, but we all know what happened in the end. Whether or not you're someone who puts a lot of stock in the weight drained reports, or whether you just think Manny Pacquiao's speed was the key factor, Oscar got his ass handed to him. It was a shocking turn of events. Inspiring stuff.

Ricky Hatton, in contrast, wasn't actually the favorite going into his 140lbs showdown with the Filipino if I remember correctly. Perhaps the journalists felt that Hatton was a shopworn fighter, and that Manny was a bad match up for Ricky with his mobility and lightning quick hands. Of course, this isn't designed to discredit Manny, I picked Hatton to win by knockout, but Manny proved me wrong again. Brutal knockout, pained me to see it.

Miguel Cotto doesn't seem to be an overwhelming favorite either, and many people, respected Boxing personalities, are picking Manny. As Max Kellerman stated in that promotional video posted on the General Forum earlier this week, "Many people think Manny can blow you out in the early rounds". I believe Max had that on good authority, but I fully expect Cotto to come out with the victory based on size and his own skill set.

Can Manny prove me wrong again? Of course, but not many people are viewing this as a mismatch like they did "The dream match". Manny is the slight favorite here, just as he was going into the fight with Britain's own Ricky Hatton. It's serves as testament to the ability of one Manny Pacquiao.

It does all seem quite coincidental, but without going great detail, I feel the only notable victories up there are; Barrera (1), Marquez, and Hatton. I felt Oscar was physically unable, Morales is only losing to fighters of Raheem's quality if he is past it, and Diaz is a B level fighter at best.

Still; Hatton, Marquez, and Barrera are pretty damn good wins. Barrera and Marquez being the best two Featherweights of the last 15 years, and Hatton being the best 140lbs since Tsyzu.

In some cases, absolutely, but we have to put some of the victories in perspective. Barrera was finished at elite level by his Pacquiao rematch, and it clearly showed in his inability or refusal to trade, and Morales went 1-3 in his last four bouts, and never fought again after losing the rubber match. Just a little bit of perspective, but other than that, Manny is a beast.
