Where do people stand on the Morales vs Pacquiao II weight issue?

true. people tend to forget also that morales beat a moving up in weight pac who was forced to wear winning gloves. credit to morales but yes i agree that some people are making this win like a buster douglas like win over tyson when we all know that morales at 130 was more settled at the weight when he fought pac. its just that morales was almost loved by all because of his warrior attitude that they are giving all the credit for morales in the first fight while forgetting that pac fought on with a bad cut for the rest of the fight.

He was clearly a force of nature in those times, and as he moved up in the divisions, his handspeed was declining - as was his work rate in places. What exactly are we disputing here, Charlie? Are you making a case for Morales being in prime condition ahead of the second Pacquiao fight? Just want to know who's who.

Oscar was past his prime by this point too, evidently - and operating above his best weight for the first time. Morales was seen to look even worse because of Raheem's style - but the mere fact he got dominated so easily only occurred because he was unable to do the things he was able to do as a 23 year old.

well, it is very similar....most people rank morales higher then hatton on the ATG lists, hatton is maybe top 200 if that......and morales did go out on his shield similar to hatton....morales had the attitude" **** it" and went to war aslong as he could, which was only 3 rounds....hatton did what he knew best, come forward and force pressure, he went out on his shield too....both faded guys.....does that take anything away from manny's skills? none at all....i'm questioning his resume....is manny still at his prime today, and at his best? yes.....but what is the period of his best competition with his improving skills mostly in his prime? ledwaba got the train rollin' and it went through the last marquez fight....If i had to study manny pacquiao I would watch that time period....

you have your opinion, i have mine. im just not convinced that the hatton that pac beat is not the same one, i think it is one of his big wins cause hatton is still considered the best at 140 during that time. no big deal, cause your argument didnt hurt pac's claim as one of the best fighters.

 

I don't know who's been saying Barrera grew old over night, nor can I agree with anyone who is dismissing the Hatton victory.

I fully expect you to claim Pacquiao is a shot item in the event he loses to Cotto. I would probably disagree, depending on the nature of the loss, and just say Manny was up against too much in fighting the bigger stronger Miguel Cotto.
