I believe that's the plan. And Tua would knock the current specter of Peter the mother**** out right now, IMO, as long as he shows tonight that he hasn't taken a major step back from his 2007 form. The funny thing is, the Peter camp will probably gobble up such an opportunity thinking it's an easy win over a household name...Tua flying under the radar outside his own continent is actually to his benefit at this time.
It ain't heavy at all.It's quite perect if you really think about it. He was around the 230s for his last few but he hasn't fought in 2 years and has lost 60 lbs since january.Losing tht much weight affects you,ask Feroz Vargas. He might actually have lot to much weight at this point.In the pics at the weigh-in he looks very good.
Maybe Tua's weight is good for a fighter like Cameron, but you gotta think he's still too heavy if he's got any hopes to challenge for a title. He's gonna need quickness and stamina to get in a position to land a big one versus good big foes and having a gut like that can't be conducive to doing it. Hopefully Tua realizes it and that he will plan on taking off more weight
Well you'd have to think he's be losing more nad more and stays in shpe between fights. In the past 2 years he hasn't and that's why I fear he might be losing to much. The man was 300 lbs in january.
Yeah he needs t ostay in a decentish shape between fights too. But he unlike Arreola when he trains he doesn't mess around. He actually is in great shpe.Or at least sems to be.
i have to disagree, if tua were to face the likes of peter or arreola, 237 would be a good weight, whether he can manage his weight this time around is another question. but now that tua is more mature and MUCH more disciplined and focused, i dont think weight will be an issue for him.
yep, tua is gonna have to be much more active this time around. personally, i think the ONLY HW's that can beat tua are the klitschko's. i truly believe if tua puts on a spectacular performance this fight, then he's gonna wreck house. but like you said, first things first and thats shane cameron.
Tua will wax Cameron with little doubt in mind.... Cameron is not a speed demon or a defensive wizard, so he'll be there to get tagged...... I know Tua still has his power, but his once average speed has slowed through age and inactivity..... BUT! It will NOT matter in this fight......... Tua by 4th round KO over Cameron.......... MR.BILL
For me there were two Tua eras: The 225lb Terminator era when he was renowned for his STAMINA as much as his power, when he set world record punchstats vs Ibeabuchi and Izonritei. His fight vs Ike was the last fight of the Terminator period. In this period he had excellent power but was known for wearing guys down , like Maskaev, up and coming Rahman etc Then he put on about 15lbs, threw a lot less but I do think he hit harder. This was when he started 1-punch KOing guys like Obed Sullivan, Moorer, Danell Nicholson etc. This was when he fought Lewis. Most agree this was not his prine period but I am of the opinion he hit a bit harder. I think now, hes gonna surprise people and be in between those 2 periods, which is a good combination. His personal life is different now and he looks quite fit, so hes not gonna be like he has been in recent years or none of us would be getting excited over yet another Tua comeback...
lets hope tua comes out like he did against Moorer. I still believe that was his best start to a fight, he had great movement , went to the body straight away , and fired off the left hook of the clinches. I do hope tua has alot of head movement otherwise he is just gonna get frustrated alla Lewis, byrd.
Go TUAMAN!!!!!! I love this guy, he's ****ing awesome. If he has smart matchmaking for the first time in his career I can see him being an elite fighter again in this division.
