Just finished watching this marvellous fight again. I love it.

But it struck me that Sanchez hardly ever missed and what he hit with were hard, clean, flush, effective shots - perhaps the best i have ever seen.

Throughout the fight he constantly lands his hard right flush and left hooks as well as his other punches but everything is crisp especially his combinations.

At the end of round 11 Sanchez gets Lopez on the ropes and unloads with 6 or 7 shots and all of them are clean shhots and land brillaintly.

    Its bueatiful viwing

Great performance but not even the best one against Danny Lopez.

Chacon's asskicking of him puts it into the ground.

Lopez was easy to hit what was hard was having the discipline to keep hitting him without getting careless cause if you got careless against little red you would find yourself sleeping on the canvas courtesy of one of Lopez thunderous right hands.

By 1980 Danny was having trouble making 126, and he was never going to beat Sal anyway. If you genetically engineered a fighter specifically to beat Little Red, you couldn't do better than Sanchez.

Danny should have side stepped him and moved up. With Arguello at 135, the biggest threat at 130 was gone. Lopez could have grabbed the title Alexis vacated, and had a few more years on top. BUT NO!! He just had to take on this "routine title defense" with Sanchez; the DUMB ASS!

yes, salvador sanchez was such a great counterpuncher it's ridiculous. that's why i shudder at the *******s' thoughts that pacquiao would have beaten sal. sal would have carved him up nice and neatly then ko'd him in the later rounds.

It was a great performance from a 21 yr old kid, smooth as ice... Ive been dying to see the rematch, cant seem to find it anywhere tho, I think that one also ended in rd 13.

Sure, Ol' Sanchez looked great against Lopez on 2 occasions, but, we also must see that Lopez was made-to-order for Sanchez like a Double Beef Burrito Supreme con Caso and Onions with Picante sauce...... Sanchez ate Lopez up..........

Sanchez was landing lead right against Lopez, so its a very competent display of clean, effective punching. Sanchez was a a marvelous fighter, one of my favourite boxers ever.

I have seen some footage of his funeral & its incredible. Thousands of people turn up to pay their respects, so many people in fact, that the cemetery is just a mass of people!

H2H Sanchez could be the best Feather ever. I certainly think he would have moved up to SFW & perhaps even LW & won more titles! For someone so young, he was a very seasoned fighter.

Classic examples of styles make fights ... Lopez was finally getting his credit as a great feather just when Sanchez comes in and beats him to a pulp twice ... Danny might not have landed on right hand in twenty seven rounds but took humdreds.
