What do you mean? Byrne won the 3rd round, so that means Phil had 29 points less 1 point deduction = 28 points Byrne at this point has 9 + 9 + 10 = 28 points.
I think that other guy beat him. Two rounds each..... then the deduction = 38-37. Phill Golota will be exposed soon enough.
i think tyson fury needs a break, i think keeping active is great but he must be exhausted from all the training and fighting... deffo needs two months before his next fight
Aye, i was surprised at this fight, the McD fight took a lot out of him, whether he or his team thought so or not. I bet they know now, after this fight. I aint a coach or pro or nowt but i was a bit surprised that given that the rematch was ordered, he went for this, no need. Seemed like a pride thing to me, stupid.
Good performance from Murray but stoppage was too early. Felt really bad for Jonno, not saying he would have won but at least give the man a chance!
Although is was a bull**** stoppage, I must say I was impressed by Murray, who has finally won me over. Not rushing in, picking his punches well, and not getting caught by anything stupid.
Murray has really come on since winning the Brit title (the first time). Meager, McAllister, Lawton and now Thaxton, all solid performances showing improvements each time.
Absolutely disgusting decision in that Fury fight, somehow even worse than the one in McDermott vs. Tyson. Hennessy is an overprotecting fruit loop, I can't imagine the scorecards had Froch been fighting Taylor at home.
Think you summed it up perfectly mate. Yes Thaxton was caught and under the cosh at that point of the fight but he wasn't given any chance to recover by the ref. If Murray had landed with 1 or 2 clean punches while Thaxton was shaken, fair enough, but the ref never gave him the oppertunity to finish it off.... or give Thaxton the oppertunity to hold or pull away. Especially in a title fight these guys deserve the benefit of the doubt... they are trained professionals ffs! If I was Murray I'd be upset for not getting the chance to finish things properly and prove there was no ambiguity about the decision. Thaxton, genuine legend and credit to the sport. All the best to him As for Murray... his hand speed and reactions are brilliant but he wont get far if he doesn't start using some sort of jab. He just waited for Thaxton to come on to him, which worked well against a come forward fighter but when he gets a decent boxer he's in trouble. Khan would have him on what I saw tonight! I'm looking forward to seeing him in some good tare up's at European level though ITV coverage is a ****ing joke!
